I must confess that I wasn’t expecting such good standards from this hotel.
I booked late, one hour before arrival at 10:15pm.
The staff at the hotel were both attentive and thoroughly professional.
Our room was very good as was the breakfast and evening restaurant
I would recommend this hotel.

Perfectly reasonable stay - friendly staff and perfectly nice. My room was quite small and did smell a bit dank. Was pricey but I booked late for a weekend. Would go again.

Room Tip: Apparently if I wanted a quieter room I should have called up in advance as no option when I was the...

Within 50 yards of Micklegate Bar mean you can start your day with a walk along York's historic City walls.10 minutes wiull take you to the city Centre. Although there are dozens of attractions York is an easy place to get around (making sure you've got a map). the hotel is clean + tidy with very friendly staff - no problems whatsoever - all at a decent price.

Finding the entrance to the Premier Inn North was a little tricky as you actually go through the back of the Costa Coffee shop, but upon arrival we booked in. This was pretty easy and the receptionist told us that the Queen would be visiting on the following day, which was a complete surprise,we were then given a map of the local area and an itinerary of the Queens day. This was really helpful. Our room was a family room, not as big as we have had at other Premier Inns, but still big enough. Clean and enough storage room for all our things. The children's beds were a little disappointing as they were both camp beds not actual beds and as my son is 5ft 11 at 14 yrs old it wasn't really that good.
We went down to the large bar and restaurant area which was located some 20 meters down the road at the Premier Inn Blossom Rd South Hotel, this wasn't much of a nuisance really, thankfully the weather was dry, We booked our table for 6 pm, thankfully we did as it was a very busy restaurant. Our evening meal was pretty good with smaller portions than expected. For my daughters, which admittedly she took from the childrens menu, but it left her feeling still hungry so she had a pudding to fill up.My fish n chips was plentiful but a little tasteless. My wife's curry was a small portion and my sons burger n chips was about the best.
Breakfasts however were a different story with buffet style service. We were shown to our table after a little wait and then asked if we wanted anything special or poached eggs. The food on offer was excellent, sausages, bacon, eggs (scrambled and fried), mushrooms, hash browns, tomatoes. cereals and fruit also available and plenty of juices and tea and coffee. Really excellent.
We found all the staff helpful and very polite with a good morning and good evening, and have you slept well. Are you having a nice time etc etc. Excellent team. Look forward to going back. The Hotel is ideally placed for going in to the city and is right next to Micklegate Bar, which has a fantastic little museum. You really would be pushed to find a better quality hotel , for the price, in York.

when looking for accommodation in york i first asked family and friends who had been which area they thought would be best and the majority said Meiklegate.I was looking for hotels in this area but as i had stayed in PI before and really enjoyed it , it was an easy choice.
The parking -we were lucky enough to get into the car park at the hotel but were not looking forward to parking elswhere. The room was great and the bed was huge, everywhere was really clean and tidy. would stay in PI again and reccommend to friends and family.
