“Perfect in every way”
Reviewed 6 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

My husband and I stayed here with our 5 year old son. We find apartments are a much better option than hotels with a child and Mallard Flat was excellent. The flat was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could need. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms excellent with good showers and a bath. Having 2 bathrooms was a nice bonus.

The flat is in a great location. Only a few minutes walk from the train station and National Railway museum and perhaps a 10 minute walk or £5 taxi ride into the centre.

Communication with Richard and Simon the housekeeper was really good and both were very friendly and helpful. I couldn't fault the flat and we will be back. An excellent choice, especially if you are visiting York as a family.

“Lovely comfortable apartment, great for seeing York.”
Reviewed 2 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Very close to the Railway Museum in a quiet cul-de-sac, this apartment is very clean, comfortable and the owners go out of their way to provide a few extras that proved very useful on our stay.

We visited the Chocolate Experience, walked along the Shambles and the walls, went to the Viking Experience, (Jorvik) the Railway Museum and had a tour of the city by bus.

The city is very short walk away and there is parking by the apartment which saves any hassle with transport arrangements.

Thanks very much to Richard.

“Ideal location for visiting York”
Reviewed 29 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

My wife booked us in for a two night stay in York for the Bank Holiday weekend. Getting a city centre room in a hotel for four people with parking was always going to be a challenge, so we looked at getting a private hire apartment, and Mallard fitted our bill. It's a less than 10 minute walk in to the city, with the National Railway Museum only 3 minutes away, which was the reason we were visiting.

We were met on arrival by Simon who showed us around and gave us information on the workings of the flat. We had a comfortable two nights staying here, and would readily recommend it for anyone wanting an alternative to a city centre hotel.

There were so many things included in the hire of the flat that we'd not expected, such as milk, butter, bread, condiments etc, which was a nice touch. The flat has free Wi-Fi too, which the kids loved.

“A lovely family holiday in York”
Reviewed 23 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We went with our two toddlers, so having a ground floor flat in a quiet area near the centre of York and a stone's throw away from the Railway Museum was absolutely perfect for us. Definitely one of the best family holidays we've had. The pouring rain on the second day didn't get to us, we merely ran to the Railway Museum and spent the entire morning there and had lunch at one of the Railway Museum's many cafes. There was fresh bread, butter, and milk in the fridge as well, which was lovely, especially as we arrived in the evening. Would highly recommend, we had a wonderful stay.

“Mini break in York”
Reviewed 11 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Stayed here for mini break and was really pleased with Mallard Flat. Simon met us at the flat and showed us around, kindly left milk, butter, bread and general supplies. Flat was clean and tidy with plenty of room for 3 adults and a 5 year old. Great location, 5 mins from railway museum and 15 to town. If didn't want to walk into town number 10 bus outside museum and only costs £1 into centre of York. Couldn't ask for a more ideal flat.
