We loved this hotel, it was in close proximity within 15 minute walk to the city centre. The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was continental in your room in picnic hampers which was really quirky and nice. Definitely would stay here again. Accommodation was above the hotel so it was nice to be able to go for drinks later and didn't have far to your room.

After working nights we struggled to find a pub open, never mind doing food, on New Year's Day. The Rosebery came to our rescue. We booked a table for 4pm with a little trepidation after reading reviews on here but were pleasantly surprised. The beef was juicy and pink, and the pork was delicious. We had some (possibly butternut, possibly swede) mash which was delightful. My vodka Bloody Mary was the best I've had in ages and a good selection of beers with a great atmosphere meant that the three of us (a couple and our dog) stayed for a couple of hours after we'd eaten. The lack of crackling with the pork, and a high price of £13.95 for a roast without mountains of veg has lost them a star and would make me think twice about going back for another Sunday lunch.

I love the pub, is a great place tonne with a brilliant beer selection but the food keeps letting it down.
I've been for Sunday lunch the last 2 weekends and it is clear the chef has an issue with how to cook the meat.
Week one we all ordered the beef but having overheard 3 separate tables complain that it was over done we asked to have the pork as didn't seem worth having. This was done with no fuss and the lunch was fine but have had way better in Norwich.
Given how much I like the place I went back the following Sunday and this time ordered the Lamb. Unfortunately with the same result. The meat was well overdone, grey in colour and very chewey. That just let the whole meal down. With the quality of food available in Norwich you can easily get better elsewhere.
It shouldn't be hard to get a Sunday lunch right but something's going wrong here.
Sort that out and I'll be back every week.
A shame..

Very clean and comfortable bedroom and adequate continental breakfast in room. Note that pub below (friendly staff and good range of real ales) was not doing food in evenings in early part of week - starts Thursday. We had room 4 at the back

In short this establishment serves food till 21:00. Booked a table for six at 20:00 in advance. Only to be told when we ordered food on the night that the kitchen was shut. Made no sense and staff unapologetic.
