Two of us stayed, we took separate rooms. My friend had a lovely family room (no 8) all to herself. I was in room 2 which has featured in some reviews. Yes, the shower room was small but it was clean and modern. The bed was comfortable. Considering the price (£60) I thought there was a generous amount of drinks, biscuits and toiletries.
Breakfast was good and Jim, who has also featured in some reviews, must have been on a customer training course as he wads perfectly pleasant!
Overall, I think it was excellent value and preferable to the Premier Inn round he corner that was going to charge £94 for the same night and no breakfast!

We stayed here in a family room. The room was absolutely stunning, the bathroom was huge and as there was 5 of us staying it still felt extremely roomy when we all slept. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Number 17 Colegate is in the perfect location, on the edge of the old city, within easy walking distance of everything, but quiet enough to avoid late night noise. Our top floor suite was marvellous .... lots of space and quiet.

Very conveniently situated. The hard rooms are particularly nice. Very clean. Good breakfast. Jim, the owner, is a bit moody and needs to be laughed off. Otherwise a super place to stay in a lovely old house.

Room Tip: The rooms in the courtyard are lovely and the garden is pretty to sit out in.

We loved our short stay at 17 Colegate, in the ancient heart of the fine city of Norwich. We were looked after with the personal touch you can expect in a family run place (but don't always get!). The room was comfortable, clean and modernised, with a well appointed bathroom, in an old and charming house. Very good breakfasts were provided, and we enjoyed the full English (you can opt for continental) and the kippers were especially good. We would certainly stay there next time we are in Norwich.

Room Tip: A room at the front, on the street, might include some light traffic noise, but not enough to bother most people
