Cork and Bottle was cited in Frommers recently so we decided to try it. This is a slightly musty smelling basement level wine bar and restaurant that we went to on a Sunday evening. They apparently have a larger menu other days of the week. There was an extensive list of interesting wines by the bottle to choose from, but there were no bargains among them. The menu was limited. The food was well prepared but not outstanding. We had the shrimp lollypops, bangers and mash, and the fish cakes, along with three different glasses of wine. We were fine with the meal, but the final bill was actually pretty pricey for what we got. To be fair, this is not that unusual in London and this is a busy neighborhood. We would probably not go back, but you could do worse.
