Rude staff, unhelpful too. We orderd 3 of the same desert on out table, one was ok, the other was squashed and the third was leaking the the sauce all over the plate!

“There are no words that can truly describe this experience”
Reviewed 14 June 2012

I was very fortunate to visit the restaurant for lunch to celebrate my 50th Birthday with my lovely wife. A very warm and genuine welcome from all the staff, an excellent menu with lots of interesting choices, an amazing wine list. Food was beyond perfection, the wine we selected with the advice from Yan, the Sommelier worked perfectly with the food. The Maitre D' Jean Claude is one of the most charming people that we have had the pleasure to meet.
A truly special memory and I would just like to thank Jean Claude and his team, and Clare and her team in the kitchen for creating a truly memorable experience.

“The Surreal Deal”
Reviewed 14 June 2012

Gordon once said "People say 3 star cooking is safe, but it isn't. It's the most dangerous thing I know". I guess Gordon had many reasons for his statement, but I believe wearing that accolade must put Gordon in the firing line. I read with disbelief the self serving criticisms by the media of his New York restaurant on Manhattan many years ago. I came away from that restaurant replete from the experience. The Hospital Road Restaurant was equally sensational with Clare Smyth as Chef de Cuisine & Jean-Claude Breton at the front of house, Gordon's great skill is not his cooking but his ability to engineer such a tremendous product to satisfy us, the consumer. Jean-Claude is charming and vivacious, but for me most of all totally focused on making sure that his restaurant was going to be everything that a 3 star restaurant could be. His team, to a man and lady, reflect his application.
The food was not just flavoursome, it had layers of flavour that arrived at intervals that tantalised and teased, wonderful textures and startling presentation.
The texture of the Ravioli of lobster, langoustine and salmon poached in a light bisque with lemongrass and chervil veloute was special, along with its flavours and presentation (it is not surprising that it is one of Gordon's classics).
The Oven-roasted pigeon from Bresse with grilled polenta, smoked ventreche, braised shallots and date sauce was a delight that became all the more special with the Burgundy from an excellent wine list that has wines at the affordable price line that are great examples of their region with great tastes but without the complexities of the far more expensive big brothers.
The dessert almost became the follow up to Monty Python's offering of "just another wafer" (I know what Gordon would have said). The assiette of deserts was an unstoppable devouring of the most decadently executed offerings.
We talked all the way home about how a brash, excitable (and with many other non conforming attributes) could be the proprietor of such a FINE and dangerous restaurant. It does not matter.
Thanks to all.

“Incredibly good!”
Reviewed 11 June 2012

This was our first stay at the Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and I have to admit that this was an incredible evening, form the beginning until the end where we even had a chance to visit the kitchen and even exchange some words with young Chef Clare Smith. Service and attentiveness off all staff was top-notch and each course was a surprise at its own. Clare is playing with flavours by creating unexpected combinations. We liked it so much and will return for sure.

“Awesome”
Reviewed 10 June 2012

The food and service are awesome, the staff to guest ratio is almost one to one which is amazing and justifies the prices. One of those places that you need to book for that special occasion and forget whatit is costing you are the food is wonderful.
