“Outstanding food and service”
Reviewed 1 May 2012

We decided to eat at Restaurant Gordon Ramsey because of the reputation of the Head Chef, Claire Smith. We had the lunch Menu Prestige which is a seven course tasting menu for £125 per person, expensive but worth very penny. Each course is a visual delight and the textures and tastes outstanding, hence 3 Michelin Stars for 10 years in a row. From Ramsey Classics go new Clair Smith creations our 2 1/2 hour dining experience was faultless. We were even lucky enough to have copy of the menu signed by Ms Smith herself. Having dined in Jean George, Per Se and Daniel in New York City, Restaurant Gordon Ramsey is on a par with restaurants considered to be among the best in the world.

“Speechless......”
Reviewed 29 April 2012

This was service at its best! From the moment we walked in you just knew that the place oozed sophistication and yet had a relaxed almost informal feel about it - like dining in someones home! The waiting staff, Maitre d' and Sommelier were a class act and there was nothing stuffy about the style or service! The food was beyond amazing....although I'd expect that given the price! The visit to the kitchen prior to departure was a nice touch. Can't wait to be in London again! Bon Appetite!

“Great food, pity about response to being a little late”
Reviewed 24 April 2012 via mobile

Food and service once inside were great. Left with bad taste in mouth afterwards due to experience before and after. We had a 2.15pm booking for lunch on a Tuesday. We travelled from Birmingham and were a bit unlucky with public transport, arriving 15 minutes late. To our shock (& disgust) we received a phone call at 2.27pm (12 minutes after our booking time) stating the kitchen was about to close so we might not get served. We arrived 2 minutes later, but in that time received another irate voicemail stating the kitchen is about to close. The frosty reception, awkwardness and gossipping staff on arrival made for a horendous beginning to our meal - we would have preferred to have been turned away at the door. I understand it is a business and being slightly late was my own fault, but there was a certain lack of class about how it was handled. Jean-Claude was great as mentioned, but I'm afraid the restaurant has been tainted and we won't return.
