my husband and i stayed at The Grand at Trafalgar Square for three nights on May 16 2012.The hotel surpassed all of my expectations. The hotel has an elegant entrance and the rooms were very clean. I am a big stickler on clean bathrooms! The staff was wonderful-we opted to change rooms with no problem and when my plug adapter didn't work they let me borrow one. I can't say enough about the location! It was perfect for the underground, walking bridge and sightseeing busses. Plenty of pubs nearby and don't forget to eat in the crypt at St.Martin in the Field church. All in all it was a great trip and it was a pleasure to come back each night to our hotel.

Rooms are nice and clean and reasonably priced considering the central location. The hotel is old but rooms seem to have been updated recently with modern furnitures and amenities thus it dosen't feel dated. Nothing spectacular but comfortable and you have everything you need (if you go to London to stay in hotel room most of the time then there are probably better options). It is 5 mins walk from Trafalgar square, the National Gallery, the tube stations Charing Cross or Embankment and the river Thames where you can go running or just take a walk on the Southbank centre. I have stayed there twice now and this is my favorite hotel and location.

Stayed here on 31 Dec 2011 (New Year's Eve) on a corporate stay rate. I've stayed at other hotels owned by this chain before, and I was impressed with the hotel room available here.

The location of the hotel is hard to beat for a tourist - right on Trafalgar Square and within five minutes walk of Westminster and other tourist attractions. The lobby of the hotel isn't the most impressive I've seen, and it doesn't have many hotel services available, but I wouldn't let this put you off.

The hotel is great value for what you get. The room is very clean, a decent size, and with a comfortable bed. There are plenty of plug sockets available, and a vast array of connections to allow you to connect up personal devices to the TV.

There is no mini bar in the room, but an empty fridge is provided, which is useful as there's a Co-Op two minutes walk away to stock up at reasonable prices.

A good solid performer.

We booked our standard room with a queen bed on hotels.com and paid an average of AUD280 per night. Check-in was fast and staff are polite. The hotel has an excellent location, right next to Trafalgar Square and there is a choice of either the Charing Cross or Embankment tube stations. It is also a few minutes walk to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Picadilly Circus and Leicester Square. There is also a self service washing machine and dryer that is free for hotel guests which we found particularly handy.

Our room was quiet even though it faced onto Northumberland Avenue. There is free wifi in the rooms and a water filter near the lifts on every floor which dispensed ice with water bottles provided. I was surprised by the size of the room, it was quite a decent size for two people. The room was clean and had lots of power points and a wall length mirror. There was a fridge, microwave, and tea/coffee making facilities. The room has lots of storage areas but no safe. The bed was comfortable and the heater worked fine.

The bathroom was a bit small however the shower was a good size. The sink could have been better designed and there needed to be more room to put a toiletries bag. The hot water came out fast and a hairdryer was provided. The one fault was the toilet, the flush did not work very well.

I would definitely stay here again as the location was excellent and close to the theatre district and transport.

The location is perfect for first time in London, short walk to main attractions, Westminster Palace and Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Picadilly Circus, oxford Street, Covent Garden.
Both the room and the bathroom are a bit small, but fine. Stilish furniture. It has complimentary wi fi, coffee maker and microwave. No place to sit in the lobby, so if you have to wait for a taxi its a bit uncomfortable.
Restaurants and theatre zone nearby. For breakfast, try Caffe Nero, one block away. Excellent capuccinos.
Touristic bus stop is at the corner. It is really convinient to make the bus tour if you go for the first time. Notting Hill and its market is really interesting. British Museum...excellent! Dont miss Harrods. Its worth seeing, especially the delicatessen area...incredible!
