We were filming in Chandos house and didn't realise they did rooms. What a nice surprise!
Rooms were luxurious and comfortable.
Beds were very high quality. Loved every minute of it.
Would absoloutley recommend.
What a lovely find in central london!

Great Location, excellent value for money. Rooms were adequate although our room (which was in the basement) had no air con or safe. When we asked about leaving valuables in the hotel safe nobody seemed to know which key was the safe key or what the procedure was. The lady on the desk was however very helpful and as we needed to rush off to a show she offered to guard our items at the desk until the safe key was found. On return to the hotel later that evening we found that our items were safely secured in the hotel safe.

Breakfast was continental and sufficient.

All in all this place doesn't really feel like your normal type of hotel however we would definitely stay here again due to the location and great value for money.

Room Tip: I assume the rooms on the first floor are better than those in the basement.

As an RSM (Royal Society of Medicine, who own Chandos House) member I use this historic little "hotel" quite often. Very close to Harley Street, Regent Street and Oxford Street. It is very useful for me. It is very good value for money but you must accept that it is not really a hotel. For the money you will get a nice, comfortable large room in central London. You will not get five star service. Your breakfast will be at a single large table. This can actually be a great way to meet people.

Do be aware that some rooms require you to walk up a long spiral staircase ... they are usually very good at warning you about this.

Room Tip: Do be careful to tell them if you can't climb a lot of steps

My husband and I stayed at Chandos House for a long weekend in May 2011. It is really good value for money: central location with walking distance to the Oxford Street underground station, nice and spacious room and healthy breakfast. The flower display is also very nice. Definitely will stay there again!

I stayed at Chandos House with my mother in June 2011. It was perfect in every way. We loved the central yet quiet location - a very short stroll from the shops & restaurants on Marylebone High Street and the shopping on Oxford Street. 3 minute walk to Oxford Circus tube. We also loved the breakfast around the large dining table. No hot food but the pastries, toast, cereals, nuts etc were lovely and fresh. We initially stayed in a basement twin room (room 18, from memory) which had a lovely big window and lots of light (no view of course). It was clean & well appointed. We then upgraded to the Chinese room which was huge, clean and just beautiful. Both rooms were very quiet. We both loved that the rooms had fantastic, adjustable pressure showers and really comfortable beds. Receptionists were always friendly and efficient but I must agree with previous reviews that the reception could be bigger and more appealing only as it isn't a good representation of the rest of the lovely Georgian building. I would recommend this B&B for people looking for great value and a fantastic location without compromising on quality.
