We stayed at the Hoxton for two days over Christmas & Boxing Day and were very impressed! They’ve obviously thought hard about what regular travellers want and have done away with the things that annoy them the most, like overpriced buffet breakfasts and mini bars, and have put in the things that make all the difference for a good stay – big comfortable beds & pillows, a really good shower and even a proper sized bar of soap, which you’re encouraged to take home with you when you leave.

I especially liked the little breakfast bag, it meant that you effectively got a room service continental breakfast for no extra cost, and there’s reasonably priced food available downstairs if the bag isn’t enough. If you want small snacks (chocolate bars and the like) you can get them from reception for no more than you’d usually pay in a supermarket, which makes a nice change from other hotels of the same standard which charge three times as much.

Phone calls are the same price you’d usually pay & I made sure I took advantage of the free hour’s worth of calls to some foreign countries by phoning my family back in Australia :-)

The only minor criticism I would have is that the free wifi connection is particularly poor in the rooms and it kept cutting out. There’s a wired connection which has to be paid for, but you can get internet & movies for £7.50 per day, so again compared to other similar places it’s a bargain. There’s also some internet IMacs downstairs which are free to use.

I loved the funky decor and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! We were lucky enough to get a £1 room for 1 night and a £29 room for the second, but I’d happily pay full price for this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here for 5 nights over New Year. Booked the room back last January so good an amazing deal - between £49 and £99 a night!
We were lucky enough to be given one of the 3 new rooms - 660. It was FANTASTIC!
A great indutrial/retro/arty theme. A HUGE bed with TV over it. A huge desk / work top area so we could keep all our stuff neat and tidy. A fridge with free water and milk each day. Coat hooks behind the door so you don't have to throw your wet coats over the chair / hang them in the wardrobe / put them on the floor (come on other hotel people, all rooms should have coat hooks) Free WiFi (come on other hotel People, stop ripping us off with WiFi charges. Cool design extras like Bakealite light switches and a movie spot lamp.
And all the staff are great - polite, friendly and eager to please.
This is our favourite hotel in London and we can't wait for our next visit

This was our second visit to the Hoxton and yet again we weren't disappointed. Great rooms, great staff, great service, great bar/restaurant, great value. If only all hotels were like the Hoxton!

Stayed here for 4 nights with my partner over Christmas - Double Guestroom. I would strongly recommend taking the Tube to Old Street Station and walking to the hotel from there if you are not carrying much luggage. It's a short walk - about 4 or 5 minutes - take Exit 3 out of Old Street Station - and just walk straight out of the entrance and follow Old Street along to Great Eastern Street and the Hoxton will be on your right.

The ground floor was almost always lively but by no means overcrowded. There are about 6 computers on the ground floor with free internet and free WiFi throughout the hotel (no problems at all connecting). We had dinner at the Hoxton Grill and we both enjoyed it - wine selection was fantastic - steak was superb and the large salad was huge! Definitely worth eating there if you stay at the hotel - the waiter was friendly too.

The rooms are average in size - very clean - requested a room on the highest floor (6th floor) and had no issues with noise at all - beds were very comfortable - toilets clean and modern. The complimentary breakfast was the perfect start to the day.

Would definitely come here again. The Christmas rates were very good value for money, but they increased slightly closer to New Year's Eve.
