We had a great 2 night stay at the Hoxton, found it to be a great value and would definitely recommend it.
Location: Although we were a bit nervous about the location intially [I kind of agree with the reviewer who noted that upon exiting the Old Street tube station their heart sank a little bit]--it was actually fantastic. We ended up using the station regularly throughout our journey (it's only about 3 blocks/5 min walk), as it is centrally located and easily accessible to central London. We even took the tube from Heathrow (a long journey) without incident. There are lots of bars, shops and restaurants within walkikng distance.
Rooms: very clean, great bathroom (modern and good use of space), the bedroom was definitely small, but we expected that. The bed was comfortable. Overall, no real complaints here.
Lounge/lobby: The lobby area is great and very stylish. We had cocktails at the courtyard bar space and had a good experience with that. They also have free-wifi and computers you can use.
Staff: The evening reception staff were great--they went out of their way to help us secure a car service for an early morning flight (which by the way was 90GBP to Gatwick).
