Having recently visited I have to say staff at the box office are the most unhelpful staff you could ever wise to meet. Unknowledgeable, snotty up their own backsides and dam right rude!

Today I was passing near by the Almeida theatre, in Islington.

The whole street was smelling of chocolate and when I realised I was inside of a business.

I didn't know which type of place It was because at first it looked as wine bar then, the lovely and friendly staff told me that it was coffee shop part of the theatre, and yes, I found where the smell came from, amazing chocolate brownie and Wow what a brownie, I think it was one of the best Brownie I ever tried, great texture, perfect sugar balance and crunchy caramel inside, WoW!

Thanks so much!

Discovered the Almeida theatre when I booked my tickets to see Robert Icke and Andrew Scott's Hamlet. Sadly, they had to cancel the first performance but the staff of the box office was utterly nice and patient, they found a solution to the problem and I ended in a seat really supperior to the one I purchased online. The theatre itself is small but it allows you to not only see a stage play but live it. It was intimist and I really felt like I was alone with the actors. It was two really lovely nights. The people at the bar are also really lovely and really patient with the customers.

The Almeida theatre is pretty small audience wise but it never fails to put on a thought provoking and often award winning experience.
I've seen 3 shows here now and have been impressed every time. This theatre is really good at trying something new whether that's with set design or by way of giving something a little different a chance in theatre.
You will feel at times a little squished in with the other audience members depending on how the stage has been set out and it can get a little hot in there at times but you will never leave this venue feeling disappointed in your experience.
As a small venue it does often mean queues for the bar, toilet and ice creams in the interval but I think the pay off is worth the slight queue based delay

Been a regular at the Almeida for almost twenty years, so it's long past time to review this marvellous theatre. Haven't missed many productions over the years and been disappointed by remarkably few. The theatre space itself is small and intimate, creating a real feeling of involvement for the audience. The bar area is a delight. Always buzzing and so much fun to spend time in. Good snacks and a reasonable range of sensibly-priced wines. The foyer area is a great space. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Almeida is exactly what a good arts theatre should be.
