An absolutely wonderful array of artisan breads, croissants, rolls, paninis and pastries.
On a nice day there is seating outside and a small number of seats inside. The breads and rolls etc are superb. You can have a cappuccino with a pain au chocolat or
you could order a light meal e.g. eggs with crispy bacon vine toms on a muffin or scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.
Not inexpensive but you are in Hampstead!

So I moved to the area a month ago and stop in a Gail's on Haverstock Hill across from Belsize Park Station. Everytime I go in I get a takeaway Latte or Flat White when I take the Li off I always find that the cup has only been filled 3/4 if the way. Each time I never say anything until yester day. Yesterday the place was not busy. I git my flat white took the lid off and I kid you not it was only half full I only order a small coffee so it is the smallest cup in the first place. So how the hell can you charge £2.30 and only half fill the cup. This was too much for me so I said I wanted the cup filled with milk when I received my cup back it was still once again only 3/4 full. Absolutely disgusted in this place I will NOT waste another penny in this theiving place there are plenty of other places to go to to get what you pay for. You have lost a customer for good and I hope anyone else who gets short changed at this shop on any of their products never go there again. Go elsewhere where you are respected for being a paying customer.

I was introduced to Gail's by my cousin last summer and visit it every time I go to London. It is a beautiful bakery chain with amazing goods. I ordered five different things because I couldn't decide what I wanted! I got the mushroom and egg on bread which was incredible -- the goat cheese was smooth and a great touch. For sweets I got a maple scone with butter and it was the best scone I ever had. I also ordered an apple tart and a large double chocolate cookie. The apple tart was incredible but the cookie was nothing to write home about (or maybe I was too full to enjoy it at that point!). Also, the cappuccinos are amazing! You definitely need to stop by a Gails for coffee or breakfast when your in London!

Had lunch here and enjoyed mozarella, tomato and avocado baguette, smoked salmon roll and spinach and feta slice..well, shared them with my daughter. Very delicious but a bit pricey for us provincial types...but then, this is Hampstead! It was busy and the table service a tad perfunctory but overall a nice little treat.
