Clearly, a lot of thought went into the design and it is a remarkable monument. Since it has only recently been opened, there are still all the handwritten notes from some of the families of those who perished while with Bomber command. These notes are extremly moving and remind one why the world should avoid war at all cost.
These servicemen knew the odds were against them surviving and yet they still did their job. It is a pity that it took so long to recognize the sacrifices of the Bomber Command people and their families
