“Great location, great room, great stay”
Reviewed 31 July 2012

We stayed here for one night while visiting the London Olympics. We found the reception staff to be very welcoming, and directed us to our room. We were not expecting much due to recent reviews, so we were really surprised when we saw our room. The room was a decent size, nicely decorated, with everything you could need, including a spare pillow. Nice flat screen tv, tea and coffee facilities and a big window to open, an essential as it was a hot day! The bathroom was a good size and spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was good, with lots of cereals, toast and ham/cheese/eggs. Again, the staff were friendly.
The location of this hotel is another main advantage, it's right next to Kings Cross/St Pancras.
I will definitely return here!

We stayed at the Crestfield Hotel for one night as we needed to be at St Pancres for a very early train.
Hotel room was very smal, but fine for one night.
Was clean but had a damp smell, went after a while when window opened.
TV didnt work but didnt say anything as we were only there 1 night.
Stay here for a quick walk to the station 2 mins away

Room Tip: Good location for station ~ Eurostar!!

other than the convenient location from Kings Cross station, this place is an utter disaster.

ranging from extremely unfriendly female receptionist who attended to us during check in to a very horrendous male receptionist who did our checkout.

We are originally booked in for 4 nights for 2 rooms, but shortened it for till 1 night because of the nightmare we stepped into.

came in late in the night as we were travelling down from wales. a snobbish lady checked us in and gave us our keys. no lifts and having to lug the bags up the winding stairs was a major minus and pain. no help rendered at all. nvm abt that.

entered the room, 2 tiny squashy beds and to top things up, the beds weren't even flat, it was slanting to 1 side and extremely squeaky.... the entrance to the room was so small that our luggage cases couldn't even get in. additionally, what greeted us was a dirty towel being left in there, just beside the heater.

bathroom was so small that literally showering would mean wetting the toilet bowl, sink area and even the toilet paper.

we feedback to the lady if she could change our room or do sth for us... all she said was.. hotel is full, nothing can be done and shrugged her shoulders. its like saying - "blame it on your luck" and she even said that she was not there to witness the dirty-ness of the room, so she cant comment on anything. when invited by us to go up and take a look, she declined??

come on .... even if yours was a 2* hotel, make it worth 2 stars? it isn't like we weren't paying guests or staying for free.

next day, we wanted to check out, the male receptionist was atrocious. Atrocious is the exact word to describe his obnoxious attitude. he even dared to question us on why we wanted to shorten our stay, "complaining" that we made a huge complaint with his colleague the night before??

we were there at 1140am for checkout and by doing so, he demanded to charge an extra night, because? HOTEL WAS FULL and checkout time was 11am. and we have prevented him from selling the room?

paid him anyway as the unpleasant encounter took up more than an hr of our time. i strongly recommend no one to visit that nightmare place, unless u want to suffer.

not even worth the word - hotel. disgraceful and disgusted.

We stayed there for two nights before our flight home. The location is very convenient - very close to King's Cross and St Pancras Stations, and it's very easy to get to and from Heathrow as it is a direct line on the Tube. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was very good for the price (and they kept bringing in new trays when they ran out of something even at the end of breakfast time): toast, jam, boiled eggs, several kinds of cereal, cheese, some kind of cold meet. The room was not very big but very clean. The furniture was rather old but OK, and the layout of the room was a bit strange: when you entered the room there were three doors: one into the bedroom itself, another into the bathroom with a toilet and a sink, and the third one was into the shower-room. So you had to hang your towel and clothes outside on the door handle. There is no lift (but that's not unusual for a hotel in London. There is a small room to leave your luggage before checking in or after checking out, without additional charge. All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay and would stay there again. Very good value for the money.
P.S. There was a lovely small dog in the lobby, belonging to someone of the staff or management, I think. Definitely a bonus.:)

After being greeted by very unfriendly reception personnel, I was told my room was on the 4th floor with no lift. Dragging my bags up the steep, narrow, winding stairs was was only a sign of more "pleasantries" to come. Dirty mattresses lined the hallway. The room provided just enough space to move around the bed, with a small rod for hanging clothes, a sink with no towel bar or hook, so the towel was lying on the bed. To reach the toilet in the "bathroom" required walking through the shower. When showering, the curtain had to be closed to keep from showering the toilet paper, and the toilet and everything else stood in half an inch of water after a 5-minute shower.
