“It certainly is not Buckingham Palace, but...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2012

What you do get from this hotel is a brilliant location to base your trip to London. It's located about 'half a cigarette walk' from Earl's Court tube station, from which you can get to just about anywhere quickly with a London Visitors' Travelcard. There is also a Boris Bike station just at the end of the street, if you're into that sort of thing,
As for the hotel itself, considering the price, you're not getting a luxury hotel room. This is probably the smallest hotel room I've ever had and between my partner and I, we had 2 small rucksacks and a small suitcase and the room is pretty much stuffed. The breakfast rooms are located in the basement and feel a bit cramped, especially when it's busy. The breakfast is the usual tea/coffee/corn flakes/toast, which is not unpleasant. And if you're a gready sod in the morning like me, you can have as much as you like!
The staff and the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. I think I heard one of them trying to tell an American guest at the hotel to be quiet at 3:00am so even though I was woken by the moronic and noisy guest, they got him to shut up!
The rooms, despite their size, are decent. Ours was clean and the towels were changed every day. The double bed (with two single matresses) was reasonably comfortable and the sheets were clean. Despite the size of the sink (it is tiny, but usable), the en suite is clean and functional. The TV seemed to be missing a lot of Freeview channels and most of the functions were locked out but if you're visiting London, you don't go to sit and watch TV!
In short, if you're just looking for a clean bed to lay your head with great access to the Underground and bus network, then this hotel is for you! If you want space and a bit of luxury, go to Travelodge, but expect to pay nearly double the price.

We stayed here in Dec '11 for 2 nights. We'd previously stayed at a similar priced hotel in Kensington, but were disappointed with this hotel's effort. The room we had (Ground floor, triple) was ridiculously small! There were three single beds, crammed into a very long, thin room. The bathroom was average, nothing to write home about. There was, however, less than appealing hairs all over the shower! Gross. Breakfast is a no-go. You can choose from boiled eggs or toast. That's really it. The walls are PAPER thin. We could here constant banging all morning with doors being slammed. It's in a good location, about a 2 minute walk form Earls Court tube station. Overall, you can do much better at other hotels!

The rooms were clean as were the areas of the hotel we saw. We had a quad room and as a base for travelling around London it's ideal in terms of location and reasonable on price. Breakfast was a nightmare, not enough seats for a place that size so we ended up taking some more milk to our room and having a drink there before going tithe blackbird for a full English!

Hotel was in perfect area for us - walked to Holland & Hyde Park and museums.
The concierge suggested lovely restaurants and a sightseeing tour to Bath and Stonehenge.
The room was not huge but had a nice view of the garden. We're surprised to see squirrels and birds in the garden at this time. The price was right.
This was our first trip to London and we will definitely come back to the hotel.

I walked in there on a tuesday evening of november and i might have taken their worst room available, which was the last room available by the way. I had no reservation therefore i cannot complaint about it since i've seen the room before to buy it. The room number was lg10, located outside the main building (just a couple of meters), under the groud; well equipped but also very small. What i haven't noticed at a first sight was a family of great spiders just at the entrance corner, which made me wonder about the cleanliness of that room....i am not sure about what would happen if in my place there would be a single woman..!!!
As previously stated, the room was quite well equipped: electronic safe, telephone, a fridge (empty), hair dryer, tea making facility and complimentary tea, heating, flat screen television, shower and bath kit, an independent bathroom that was by the way very small and ugly (see picture).

The common spaces are very few: a lobby in front of reception which was very very small, and the breakfast room where you can take breakfast from 7.30 to 9.30 which could definitely be improved. The hotel also offers wi-fi internet, for an extra charge – i haven't tried this.

The location is simply great, you will be on the earl court, where there are a lot of restaurants and all the services you might need, in few walks. The metro station “Earl's Court” is just few meters far, where you can reach picadilly and many other destinations in few stops.

The staff was ok, even if I didn't have the chance to interact with them a lot.

In sum the hotel is very good for the location and for the room services (as long as you take the rooms of the main building, not the one i took!!), breakfast and cleanliness could be improved, by the way this is not a top class hotel and the price is adeguate. Value for money is ok, if you consider to be in london earl's court, it wouldn't be the same at all if on another city or location.
