“Good budget place”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

London is an expensive city and therefore despite the stiff price this has to be considered a budget place. Taking this into account, it is a very good option. Staff is friendly, rooms are small but clean, beds are good and location is excellent. Breakfast is so-so, but hey, this is England. If you don't mind the many steps (no lift!), take a top floor room. Ours was very quiet and not so dark. There is no air con, but this is usually no problem in London

Our family visited London for the fist time on Thanksgiving 2011. After researching hotels on travel sites, I finally narrowed it down to two hotels near Victoria Station/Buckingham Palace. Luna & Simone Hotel offered the best value; it is within waking distance to Victoria Station and the Buckingham Palace. The rooms are clean and comfortable (I booked two separate rooms with two twin-sized beds.) The showers are updated and are en-suite. The hosts are very hospitable. The hotel serves an English breakfast of toasts, marmalade, hot chocolate, orange juice, tea, and coffee, bacon, beans, and eggs (cooked to your liking). I would definitely stay at Luna & Simone hotel again.

We stayed here for four nights at the end of March. We selected this small hotel from a list of recommendations in Rick Steves' London 2012 book. It was everything he depicted in the book. Small room which has been upgraded to having an on-suite shower and toilet. Armoire with a safe that is big enough to hold your iPad. Free WiFi. Free breakfast is also included in the basement every morning. Don't miss the small window of time for the breakfast. Since we are not accustomed to having large meals at breakfast we ate here only once. Service was always friendly.

Victoria Station is the closest Underground to this hotel and even though it only looks like a couple of blocks on a map, it was actually closer to 5 or 6. Not only that, the streets here take off in any old direction they please so it becomes easy to get lost unless you pay strict attention to where you are going.

Fare was 115 GBP per night and we found that to be very good for London.

We either walked to took the Underground everywhere we went. Even though we were only there 5 days we bought the 7 day travel pass (not the Oyster) and totally got our money's worth. Our room was on the first (second to us) floor and faced the street. Noise from the street never bothered us and the fresh air was nice. There is no A/C in this hotel. There is a tele but the catch with that is you can only get British TV. HaHa. Not quite what we are used to back home.

We would go back here again and I gave it a "very good" rating not because of it's amenities, but because it was bargain and preferable to a larger chain hotel in a busier part of town. They were everything we expected at a good price. A Rick Steves type of hotel.

Stayed here for two nights and loved it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, quiet and met my expectations completely. It is easy to find and you can get to it easily from either the Pimlico or Victoria station tube stops. I will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here last year with my two teenage daughters and will be returning again this year. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to not have to spend a fortune on London hotel rates. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are so helpful and go out of their way to help you with anything you need. The hotel is located within a 10 mnute walk of Victoria station which makes it ideal for getting about. The only fault I could find with my stay is that as others have also pointed out the breakfast is only served until 8.30 and this could do with being extended for another hour as not everyone wants to rise so early when away for a few days.

Room Tip: Rooms at back of hotel are quieter.
