“Airconditioning would do a lot!”
Reviewed 9 August 2011

There was a heat wave in London during our trip but the hotel didn't have any kind of airconditoning. The only way to get fresh air (in general) was to keep windows open, even if it didn't help much. There was a kind of small ventilation system in toilet but you had to keep lights on in order to make it work and as it was very noisy, sao you couln't leave it on for a night.

The room had a wall to wall carpeting which is really something terrible from the 70´s but luckily we had medication with us due to allergies. The room was not vacuumed even once during our 5 day long stay. The room was very dusty. The closet didn't have any shelves.

Breakfast was ok, except the instant coffee..Location is the best asset of this hotel. This is a budget hotel in quality, not in price.

Room Tip: id you have allergies, don't book a room from this hotel

Our double room was extremely small. My husband is only 5’ 11” but his feet hung over the end of the bed. We had a bath towel each; no hand towel, no bath mat for the floor. The electric went off about 10.15pm; we waited a few minutes and then went downstairs to see what was happening. The people on reception could barely speak English and didn’t know what the problem was and were waiting for an electrician. An hour later we still had no electric. It was such a very hot night but we couldn’t shower. The next morning the electric was on but when we left the room we found the lift didn’t work. We had to carry our heavy suitcases down three flights of narrow stairs. The staff didn’t even apologise.

I stayed there with two friends of mine for three nights in july 2011. We didn't have high expectations because we had so good deal. We only needed a clean place to sleep and shower in. But the welcome was very nice, the women in the reception was very kind and helpful. We had a double room with a extra bed. The room was small and there wasn't a lot of extra space after three persons suitcases. But the room did its job. We had a peaceful sleep there and the hotel's location was ok for exploring London. The breakfast was very very simple but we knew that already in advance so it wasn't a surprise.

Let me start off by saying I have not stayed at this hotel.
However I came across it on the internet looked ok and was in the right area for out trip to see friends.
The on the net price of £80 for a double seemed ok and the hotel had a good customer review on its web site.
I rang up to confirm the booking however was told there was a very small double available, not at £80 but £168.
I queried this and was advised that was the price as her boss had put up the price because its the finals week at Wimbledon.
As incredible as it may seem and not being a City Slicker I thought the extra price hike was a rip off and one I was not prepared to pay on principle let alone financially.
I then had a look at trip adviser and am now so glad the price was hyped up for the weekend.
Thanks

Tiny. Dirty. Old. Uncomfortable. Shabby. Spotty service (no maid service on Day 2 of our stay.) The bed was a small metal frame with squeaky springs and a thin mattress. Had to leave a 5-pound note at the front desk to get a remote for the wall-mounted TV, which had all of 4 channels. The sink in the bathroom was loose and ready to fall off the wall. And expect to smack your knees on the sink drain pipe when sitting on the comode. Simply awful.
