“Perfect B and B in East End”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2012

Stayed in room #1 with my husband and 16 year old who was provided a cot. Room was very charming and would have spent more time in it if we weren't so rushed to see the sights of London. Bathroom was always bathed in streams of light. Loved all features of the Cable Street Inn and breakfast of cereals, juices, fruit, toasts and sweet breads was perfectly laid out for anytime we decided to wake. Julian was very friendly and hospitable and once again we would have liked to spend more time chatting with him if we weren't so pressed for time.
Only drawback was the location on the DLR line which meant a few changes on the underground but the underground was so efficient it wasn't much of a problem.
Julian recommended a great Indian/Pakistan restaurant called Tabbayis which was a 10 minute walk from the B and B.

Stayed for one night in Cable Street Inn as a present for my girlfriend on her birthday. And what a delightful present it was! The inn has been transformed from a pub to a wonderful 3 bed boutique b&B with delicious decor, furnishings, style, art and comfort. From first entering the Inn, and being welcomed by Julian, the simple journey from the Reception Area to our bedroom, on the first floor was just great - taking in all the details of the Inn with its original floorboards, industrial sized wooden cabinets and displays, the varied art pieces that appear to orginate from different parts of the world, and the most satisfying thing of all for me, the smell of the place...wood scent and cinnamon that just seemed to simply float around one's nostrils was just devine. I was also amazed by just how perfect Julian had mananged to select such intense yet subtle colours for the painting of the doors, walls, etc - the hues of the greens, blues, browns, etc were just incredible and only added to the charm and beauty of this place.

Our bedroom (Room 1) was equally as gorgeous with a Super King size bed that neither me nor partner wanted to escape from, a beautiful designed dark wood wardrobe, with accompanying white tiled sink, and the richness of the blue walls that had a couple of great locally-produced oil paintings haninging from them. Oh, and a bathroom to die for!

I would happily stay here again and have already recommended the Cable Street Inn to friends and family a far...

Thank you Julian!

James

Lovely little b&b, I would recommend this place to everyone, and will stay here every time I am in London. Julian cannot do enough for you, and the breakfast is excellent.

After years of staying in plastic chain hotels Cable Street Inn was a breath of fresh air. I took my daughter to London for her first proper trip back in 15 years and Julian could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Everything just oozes quality and class; in an understated and wonderfully unfussy way. It's in a great location - 2 minutes from the DLR. Can't recommend highly enough.

The inn is beautifully decorated, absolute luxury at an excellent price. I felt like a princess surrounded by elegant antiques, a truly unique atmosphere. Great location, as it is not in the hustle and bustle, but close enough for easy exploring. I would recommend this inn to anyone looking for a relaxing time exploring this wonderful city.
