“Not for young children”

I have seen this musical five times since it opened. Always forget how long it is - think it's over after the first half. Wonderful production and great music

“Best Musical Theatre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2012

Already have seen this musical elsewhere, and loved it. Had to see it in London. Slightly view affected seats but still my favourite musical theatre of all time! Even teenage boys enjoyed it!

“Brilliant entertainment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2012

I have seen this twice, most recently the version starring Alfie Blow and Matt Lucas (although, to our great disappointment, the former was ill for the performance we attended). Matt Lucas was brilliant and brought a personal twist to his character: he was clearly enjoying himself which was infectious. The understudy was also brilliant. The plot is, as in most musicals, not the point and anyway was taken from a rather pessimistic Hugo novel. The music, staging and singing are rousing and touching: it is hard not to be moved.

I would fully recommend it.
