Owner description: Although there have been various earlier entertainment buildings on the site the reconstructed Adelphi Theatre, with its art deco interiors, opened to the public in December 1930 with Jessie Matthews starring in Ever Green. The front-of-house areas of the Adelphi Theatre were restored to their original lustre and extravagance in 1993 when Andrew Lloyd Webber became co-owner and opened his musical production of Sunset Boulevard. Other famous productions at the Adelphi Theatre include Gertrude Lawrence in Cole Porter’s Nymph Errant, Ivor Novello’s The Dancing Years, Bless The Bride, Beatrice Lillie as Auntie Mame, Van Johnson in The Music Man, Lionel Bart’s Blitz! and Maggie May, Charlie Girl with Anna Neagle, a revival of Me and My Girl originally starring Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson and in the Adelphi Theatre’s longest run (over nine years), the new Broadway production of Kander and Ebb’s Chicago. Revivals of Evita and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have proved enormously popular. More recently, the theatre played host to the worldwide premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Love Never Dies.

Saw the show with my teenage daughter and we both loved it! Brilliant cast, amazing dancing, excellent singing with some brilliantly upbeat and catchy numbers. A real feel good show with a lovely storyline that enables you to escape real life for a couple of hours and leave feeling uplifted, energised and fabulous!!

Matt Henry is fabulous as Lola and the only real star of the show! Overall the show is average with a very dull start. The music is forgettable and unmoving unlike other musicals although the more lively numbers are fun to watch due to the excellent costumes and dance routines executed by the wonderful drag queens.
As a disco drag queen show it has all the glitz and glamour, but it lacks the depth and emotion of a west end show!

My wife dragged me to this show and what a great choice! The story moves along quickly, Cindy Lauper's music is fantastic and had everyone foot tapping and clapping! Lola and Charlie were great not taking away from the rest of the cast. What a WOW experience - I'm a convert, and will wear the T Shirt with pride!

A fabulous, feel-good musical with many vibrant numbers: while I was tapping my feet to a fair few, I didn’t quite go away singing them like I have done after other shows. That being said, Sex Is In The Heel is a fantastic song.

The Drag Queens, in amazing attire, provided plenty of humour. My favourite character by far, though, was Lauren: her song is brilliantly funny.

Excellent staging and our seats in the Upper Circle were absolutely fine!
