“Cozy, well designed space - gracious landlord”

I stayed here during a solo visit to London and it was a great location - close to multiple tube stops - making it easy to get just about anywhere in central London. Enrico is a great host, helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. The small space is well designed and very comfortable. Enrico made very clever use of multiple sky lights to ensure the space was well lit. I was impressed with how well appointed the kitchen was and the bathroom was also well designed.

“Modern, bright clean space in great location with friendly hosts!”

I did a lot of research to find the perfect place for us to stay in London and this place was our top choice as it met all of our requirements (fit 4 people but 2 separate beds for the teens, within Zone 1 but outside the congestion charge, kitchen, free parking, wi-fi but GREAT VALUE for Zone 1 etc). I was a bit hesitant with the size (as we are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers) and that it is in an estate, but the place exceeded our expectations and we had an absolutely lovely stay there.

Enrico impressed right away during our pre-stay correspondence with his attention to detail, quick response to my questions and willingness to cater to our specific needs (i.e. check-in and parking). The hosts continued to impress with a friendly, professional and thorough check-in. The flat is a small extension off of a row house and Enrico has obviously put a lot of love and care into it, we were impressed with all the thought put into space-saving features and allowances for as much light as possible. The space is tight for 4 but we were expecting this...and still much preferred to a hotel room. Two (not-so-large) adults slept fine on the pull-out couch (though could use a larger duvet) and the kids enjoyed their own space in the mezzazine. I wasn't planning on hanging out much in the flat due to the space, but we did (played games, watched movies etc) and it was perfectly comfortable and cosy. The place is well-equipped with an "over-sized" (ratio to the rest of the flat) bathroom and items were provided that are not always included with a self-catering place, e.g. toilet paper for the entire stay, washing up liquid and sponge, etc.

The location is fab, within Zone 1 and a 5-7 min walk to Marylebone train/tube station but we ended up walking to most places (Oxford St, British Museum, Soho etc) - yes, a fair walk but still perfectly doable!

We think Enrico has done a stellar job on the design and decoration of this place, making it sleek, modern, bright and clean, as well as knowing what it takes to be an inviting and professional host. We were impressed (and we travel a LOT and have stayed in many places around the world) and would return if back in London.

“Cosy central flat built by owner”
Reviewed 11 February 2012 for a stay in February 2012

A student fellow and I stayed in the flat for four nights at beginning of February - maybe the most freezing days in London, so I can confirm that its heating works very well. You could maybe pack some woollen socks, because the floor is a bit chilly. When we visited the flat was newly build, the lovely owner Enrico built this tiny flat as an annexe to his row house. It has a seperat entrance through the back yard. The flat is protected with a burglar alarm, that you of course need to turn on when leaving the flat.

The flat is perfect for two people, even three very close friends I can imagine, but a fourth tenant would be out of discussion for me. As you can see in the photos the sofa can be transformed into a bed, but even this way is too small for two grown ups. Maybe children could share this space. The dining area is very small and I cannot imagine four people sitting at the folding table.

Everything was neat and tidy, the kitchen hardly ever used. A bit annoying is the smoke detector as it goes on when you cook - the only way to avoid this is to switch on the fume cupboard. The kitchen is fully equipped, for cereal enthusiasts there are only three small bowls, there could be a few more. For coffee lovers there is a tiny italian cooker pot and a french press, but no filter machine.

The sleeping area can be reached via a high-angle stairway, so you have to be a bit sporty. But it is absolutely safe, you just need to concentrate a bit when climbing up and down. The beds are self built but totally clean and comfy. There are big garret windows on the ceiling, so the area is very bright during the day - perfect for reading. At the very end of the sleeping area there is a glass floor, which you don't need to accede, but instead it brings daylight to the downstairs area directly in the kitchen.

The bathroom is luxuriously furnished and big - it comes also with a roof-light. Everything was clean and shiny, not a single hair could be found in the drain. The owner makes three towels available per person, one small hand towel, one towel at middle size and one bath towel. They were - as the linen - absolutely clean and fresh. The toilet paper was provided for twice the time of our stay.

And finally let me tell you something about the host Enrico. He was nice and obliging from the beginning of our mail conversation. With Paypal paying was easy and safe. Enrico sent us directions, but then even picked us up by car when we arrived at the next Tube station. He had a detailed contract prepaired for me, the tenant, ready to sign, which he had already sent me via email after he received our advance payment. He asked me to take my time for reading through the contract. He wants to make sure that the tenants are responsibly and for that he is a fair hirer. Afterwards he showed and explained us very precisely everything in the flat, he even made a folder with directions to the nearest groceries shops and restaurants. He even prepared some juice, fresh milk and yoghourt in the fridge. Oh, and welcome chocolate! There was also enough coffee and bread for the first morning. We were pleased. And after our stay also the check-out was fast and easy.

Marylebone station is only around five minutes away, but you should also check for the nearby buses, the next station with the line (No. 139) to Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square is only two minutes from "home".

All in all it was perfect for us - for this price and this location. Don't expect a castle, it is a small studio, but has everything you need for a stay in this thrilling city. Mille grazie and cheers for making our stay so rememberable, Enrico. Whenever I will revisit London, I will check in again at Enrico's in NW8.

“Perfect location - central but quiet”

I booked this apartment for a two week stay in London and from wow to go was very happy.

The owner is prompt and responsive in his correspondence and works hard to ensure that guests have everything they need before they arrive.

The flat itself is new, wonderfully clean and cleverly designed to maximise space. The kitchen is a pleasure and the bathroom really delightful.

The space is beautifully light and the double height ceiling above the seating area makes it seem very airy.

There is good access to the city and plenty of places to grab groceries if you choose to cook for yourself.

I particularly valued the block out blinds in the sleeping area which rendered the space very dark when wanted - very useful for this jetlagged Australian traveller.

The flat has good wifi throughout which was also useful as I had work to do during my stay enabling me to undertake skype meetings as required.

I'm already checking dates for my next trip to London.
