Description: A member of the iconic fleet dating back to 1873, Nicholson's offers timeless British pub hospitality. A fine stock of smooth and silky cask ales are pulled at the bar, while homely British classics are served in the dining room. The carefully chosen wine list brings together some great international bottles, while a Cask Ale Club is offered for any true beer aficionados.

My family and I ventured to this pub in the recommendation of the London Rick Steve’s guide. Initial impressions: wow...this pub is an historic landmark. The interior is splendid. Loads of prolific quotes around the ceilings, and busts of old English notables.

Food: if you’re headed here for top notch fare—go elsewhere. Although the steak & ale pie was good (decent pub standard), the burger was dry and the fried scampi was meh. Peas all around (typical but mushy & yucky).

Tip: head here for a pint and to take a few photos. But head elsewhere for a more palatable meal.

Just head to this pub for some awesome history (read up about it when you're there) and the interior decor.

The food is reasonably priced (get a 25% off voucher from their website before you go) and the pies are incredible. fish and chips were also good but could do with more chips.

The downside is that you must make a reservation as it's a very small (historical) pub and that they really need more waiting staff. the poor lad serving our table turned out to be the only lad serving all the tables. he was very helpful, given how stressed he was.

Enjoy a beer and a bite in this 100 years old pub on the site of an old monastery in a unique corner solitary building with fantastic Art Deco architecture

Have visited the Blackfriar Pub several times. Classic and very historic London pub. Very good selection of cask ale and other beers. Food was good. For those traveling with kids, it is kid friendly for lunch. Would highly recommend a visit.
