I have just returned to the States from London and my stay at The Lime Tree Hotel, which has been a staple on my lodging list for London for many years. As so many accurate and positive comments have already been stated in the reviews, I'll just fill in a few blanks. Matthew, Charlotte and staff know how to "do" hospitality. Their efforts resonate daily. Your wish is their command, information is always available, free internet in the "snug", daily newspaper and monthly magazines are always on hand in the breakfast room. Over the years, I have stayed in a number of the rooms. Yes, most rooms are small with small bathrooms, but this is a listed historic Georgian townhouse and one expects smaller rooms and no lift. I have stayed here as a two-some and as a single person. For those of you who travel solo and may be concerned about safety, the Lime Tree Hotel is perhaps the safest small hotel (25 rooms) that I know in London. My only complaint is that the word has been out for some time about this fantastic cozy Belgravia hotel, which is so close to Victoria Station for the trains and underground, that getting reservations can be difficult!
