Owner description: The Royal Mews is home to the royal collection of historic coaches and carriages and is considered to be one of the finest working stables in existence. The Royal Mews is responsible for all road travel arrangements for The Queen and members of the Royal Family and is home to the most dazzling display of coaches including the Gold State Coach, which has been used at every coronation since that of George IV in 1821. During your visit, you will be able to see The Diamond Jubilee State Coach.

I definitely would recommend this attraction. It was so neat getting to see all the carriages, the tack room and learn a bit more about the transportation for the royal family. We also got to see some of the queen's horses when we first arrived. We also did the Queen's Gallery which wasn't as interesting but it's only 19 quid if you do both. There was also a little room for children to colour. They also had an area where you could try on clothes. It was really neat!

Went back to the Mews to see what had changed since they revamped it. Was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. Its well thought out and laid out now and the addition of an audio guide giving brief descriptions of the exhibits is a bonus. If you like a close up of the carriages that are used on State and Ceremonial occasions then you won't be disappointed. Not expensive and if you get your ticket stamped at the end you can visit more than once at no extra cost.

We visited the Royal Mews because we were in London when Buckingham Palace was closed to visitors (and because one of our kids loves horses). It was easy to find. The audio guide gave excellent information and the guides were informative and told great stories. We enjoyed seeing the coaches. It is a short visit (about an hour) and very enjoyable.

This was a highlight of our London visit. You'll see not only carriages but also one of the monarch's six state limousines. Our guide was terrific (we've found this to be the case at all the sites administered by Royal Palaces). Exhibits and interactives were well done.
