This is an interesting Hawaiian Burger and Sandwich Grill restaurant that you can visit only in Haleiwa, Honolulu, Tokyo and in London. You can find more information at their website: http://www.kua-aina.co.uk. Also look out for their special beers based on coconuts!

“OMG delish”

Great place for a burger-couldn't believe somewhere this great was in such a touristy area! Great choice of burgers & sandwiches. The sweet potato fries are amazing! Love the Hawaiian radio playing too. Can't wait to go back.

“Delicious! Already looking forward to my next visit..”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

Decided on Kua Aina following a recommendation. Girlfriend and I just wanted an inexpensive, quick, tasty bit of food before a Saturday night - that's exactly what we got.

Menu is simple yet difficult to choose because there are so many things I'd happily go for. Chose the 1/3 burger with bacon and avocado with a side of sweet potato wedges. All this washed down with a pint of Asahi beer. The burger was superb and cooked very well, the lettuce / tomato / avocado / bacon neatly placed giving a nice fat burger - not a squashed one you find in fast food joints that look nothing like the picture.

We went at 5pm so relatively quiet time, but it was getting busier. It has the feel of a Hawaiian cafe / diner and isnt too formal.

Spent £25 on two burgers, large side, pint of beer and a coke. In my opinion it was very good value.

Recommended.

“Soggy, 'bloody' undercooked burgers”
Reviewed 18 April 2012

This was by far my worst experience of undercoooked burgers. I dined here with my family, in total 6 of us. We had groupon vouchers which entitled us to a side and a main. This place was like a cafe/burger bar which had a basement. Atmosphere was not so great, there was no warmth, no comfort and we were treated more like a number than a person. We ordered a steak sandwich which was edible, but when it came to our burgers, they were the worst burgers we have actually come across. McD's actually could have taught them a thing or two about how to make an edible burger. The burgers were placed in a basket lined with paper and fries were separate. When we raised the burgers out of the boat shaped baskets, we witnessed a pool of blood and it was very off-putting, my daughter couldn't eat hers at all, so she left it. The burger buns base were actually like a red sponge when it absorbed all the blood from the uncooked burgers, not at all appertising. When i questioned the waiter about the level of blood in our baskets, he just shrugged and said that's how we cook them. Will i go back? No - never, was the experience worth it? NO NO NO. Do i recommend it, no, unless you like your burgers drowned in blood.

We are very sorry to hear that you have had an exceptional, unsatisfactory experience. This does not reflect the high standards that we expect of our food, nor of our staff if they were unresponsive to initial concerns back when you visited in January. We will certainly mention this to our general manager. We are proud of our premium, fresh 100% West Country beef patties and our home-made seasonings. The burgers can be requested from medium rare, which will indeed be juicy and succulent. We are always happy to re-cook any meal that is less than to a customer's exact taste. Thank you.

“by far the best burgers in London!”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

Nice cosy atmosphere.

Fries were crispy and absolutely lovely!

the Burgers were done nicely, the buns were tasty, it was such a good meal.

the half-a-carrot stick was pretty random though.....
