It is iconic and you can still see the clockface but the rest is completely covered during the refurbishment so can’t see the shape of the tower. Buzzing busy atmosphere so worth going if in the area. We were told it will be undergoing repairs for another 4 years.

As a resident and worker within London, it saddens me to see so many low-scoring reviews for this iconic landmark just because it is under renovation. It is a Grade I listed building, in a high-risk location, and maintenance works are essential to ensure it can be enjoyed by many generations to come. I know it must be disappointing not to see it in all its glory, particularly as it is so synonymous with the image of London, but I only wish that visitors would do their research before coming to London, rather than visiting and giving it a low score :-(

One of the very few letdowns we had in our trip. This monument was covered for renovation. Maybe next time.

How sad to hear that this was such a letdown. Please understand that the restoration works are long overdue and completely necessary. As you say, maybe on your next visit to London, the clock and the Tower will be back working and even better than before!

Big Ben is part of the Houses of Parliament. The clock and its booming bell is obviously a massively famous icon of London

Unfortunately it is currently undergoing massive restoration and is covered in scafolding and sheeting so its completely hidden from view

Suggest you check the web site before you make the journey or you’re going to be disappointed.

We were excited to see this landmark only to discover it is almost completely covered up bring restored. It should look great when done in a couple years.
