“Great last minute booking !”
Reviewed 24 June 2012

We stayed at this hotel as part of A last
Minute booking for my husbands birthday. The location was excellent and even though we only had a standard room it was quite big for a city hotel. The breakfast was good value for money and worth paying for.

Make sure you get the executive new wing of the hotel OTHERWISE creepy people hangin about in non secured hallways and too much trash soda cans in elevators ..coffee cups soda cans in stairways and hallways random baby strollers blocking narrow hallways ....dirty laundry and dirty dishes all day sitting around ... cleaning staff with so much soiled laundry piled up it's nasty and people cannot get past with their suitcases.. The new wing is quieter cleaner more peaceful but their secure access key coded access is either broken or not in use . Bell man acted as if it wasn't important when I asked him why it wasn't being used and was it broken. Executive area rooms MUCH larger cleaner and on quieter part of street . 4star . In the executive area but I would NEVER stay in the main older part the hotel .

Glamourous entrance and reception area. Very spacious and modern. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. My room was compact but had everything I needed and importantly was very clean. A bit confusing finding my way to my room each time as it was a bit of a rabbit warren upstairs. Plus it was being decorated whilst I was there but that didn't put me off although I suspect that may explain the lack of clear signage after I left the lift area. Breakfast was nice enough the first morning (a Friday) but then I was confused because on the Saturday it was in a different location and not to the same standard I thought. (Business users Friday, tourists on a Saturday). Still it was in a decent location and my room was quiet enough which can be difficult to find in central London and I have stayed in much worse hotels in central London for a similar price. Despite the confusion I would stay there again if I needed to be in that area.

It's less than a minute away from Marble Arch square. That's where all sightseeing buses are lined up, it's their starting point/ station.
The hotel is clean and in good condition. The standard room was fine, comfortable bed, bathroom was fine.
There was an electric kettle in the room with tea bags and nescafe. that's the only thing I didn't like - I prefer fresh coffee, those coffee makers that are available in most decent 4* hotels around the world, not the instant coffee.
The staff was helpful. I asked for a late check out at 2.30 and it was accepted.
My booking was without breakfast. There's a nice cafe near the hotel they have a good breakfast menu.
I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

As the Taxi pulled up to the hotel we were very excited. Big, proud building that looked like it was going to be a winner....Wrong! Smallest rooms we´ve ever seen with bathrooms the size of a kids closet. To get to the other side of the bed was a feat in itself. Add a couple of cases and big bags to the equation and you can imagine how tight it was. O.k. it´s the middle of London so there will be noise from the traffic, but this was deafening. Anyone ever heard of double glazing??? Requested a different room and was told it would cost an extra 100 pounds a night!  Other problems: The elevators took forever, our T.v. didn´t work properly, the cleaner didn´t clean properly and the whole stay was uncomfortable. One word: Rubbish.
