good location about 7-8 min walks from gloucester road tube station. also very easy walk to musuems and knightsbridge. rooms were of good size and bedding was comfortable including the pull-out sofa bed. the place has recently been renovated so everything is new. nice touch is the imac with internet access next to the reception. there is also in room internet access which is complimentary. otnly issue is the lack of conditioning or fans in the rooms which is an issue during the warmer summer months as the rooms were rather stuffy and there were even flies coming into the rooms due to the heat. we had to keep all windows open but even then still not really helped. whilst there is a laundry room at the basement, this is chargeable and is rather expensive at 5 pounds for washing and antoher 5 pounds for dryer. overall a good stay.

I stay in apartment-style hotels in London since I am there a week at a time on business. For this trip, my usual accommodation in South Kensington wasn't available so I tried the Citadines. The rooms are well-appointed and seem to have been recently updated. Smaller than my usual digs but sufficient UNLESS you require a dedicated space for eating. Good proximity to public transport (2 blocks to Gloucester Road station, just a little further to bus stops on Cromwell Road). Note that Gloucester Road tube station is NOT fully handicap accessible - if you've got luggage, you must get up 2 flights of stairs before reaching the lift. Earls Court IS accessible and is ~ 5 GBP cab ride away. Laundrette in basement includes 2 washing and 1 drying machine only. At 5 and 4 GBP respectively,. a bit pricey in my book. Free wired and wireless internet worked very reliably. Easy access to grocery store at Gloucester Road station, plenty of little shops and restaurants nearby. Kitchenette includes fridge, burners, microwave, toaster and kettle. No oven or dishwasher. No tea towel, paper towels or napkins. Other items seemed sufficient. Cleaning of room is done weekly, in my case on Wednesday which was sufficient for my Sunday to Sunday stay. Easy walk to Kensington Gardens and Palace. I dinged them slightly on service since I asked 3 days running for a lightbulb to be replaced (presumably burned out) and it wasn't done. My usual accommodation in the area is better priced but I still think this is good value for money.

In a nutshell:

- Service: this example summarises this place: As I was checking in, a Lady with two children was struggling to push a pram and a suitcase, whilst two members of staff were simply staring at her struggling. I offered my help and she gracefully accepted. After that, I was practically refused check-in because I did not have a printed proof of my stay. Only after a long and strenuous discussion/negotiation did the check in clerk decide to look into my file (which he found in the blink of an eye).
- Cleanliness: room are not cleaned unless requested (at an extra charge)
- Location: great, as you are on Gloucestor road, and within a minute's walk from the underground station (as well as being close to museums)
- Rooms: my double studio room was tiny. Given the price, for an extra, I would have rather stayed at Fraser Place (around the corner) for twice the space (at 30% extra cost).
- Value: what you see is what you get...
- Sleep Quality: the majority of the rooms have a view over Gloucester Road, which is rather noisy.... But then again, you are in central London, so do not expect to be woken up by chirping birds :0).
Voila... Overall, a "1 out of 5" might be a little harsh, but service was simply abominable. The only reason why I stayed is that all other hotels were booked due to Wimbledon. I will not make the same mistake twice.

The residence is not far from the museums of South Kensington (Albert ad Victoria Museum, Science Museum and Natural History Museum) and Kensington Gardens which you can reach with a short walk. The underground station is very close.
Due to a renovation (which will be completed in summer 2010) the lobby is closed and there is a reception desk at the entrance. We had a studio with a sofa bed. Everything was new and we were likely to be the first guests in the studio after the renovation. The studio was not large, just a little more than an average hotel room, with a fully equipped kitchenette and new bathroom. Unfortunately the window was very small with no view. The price is average for London. The residence is not a bad choice but I suggest you carefully check other offers before choosing this residence.

website said foyer being revamped, turned out to be first 3 floors out of action.
photos on web showed loungeroom and 2 bedroom...received sofa bed and upstairs double bed. asked for room type we booked for and were shown single apartment and expected to pay for this additional room.
jam on the windows, disgustingly aged, yellow mattresses.
lifts would stick on one floor, workmen using one..have to walk up 4 flights to make other lift come down.
sunday morning fire alarm goes off, i head downstairs to see if real alarm (have 82yr old father travelling with me) no-one at desk. man who works there starting his shift is asked by me if the continuing alarm is false....i am told by him, "i don't speak engish!!!"
