“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2012

We have stayed at the Marriott County Hall several times, and we have been extremely pleased. The location just cannot be beat for sightseeing. Views of the river and Parliament: breathtaking! This last trip (returned home 4/6/12), I booked the room through Expedia - which saved nearly $200 per night. The room service runs around the clock, which is nice when you are coming from a different time zone. The rooms are large for Europe, with actual King (not two twins stuck together) and Queen sized beds. Each room offers two "American"-voltage plugs, which is convenient for travelers coming from the U.S. Everyone helping with customer service is professional and courteous. It is worth the money for location and service! We will stay there again.

Room Tip: The river view is definitely worth the uplift in price.

This hotel has a great location and wonderful view of the river. We stayed just before Easter and ended up paying extra for a river and big ben view when we checked in. Even if one is a Marriott Elite Silver member, one will not be upgraded, unless one pays..........especially when the hotel is busy. It was worth it, however. Caveats.......the room was far from the elevator and at eye level with the people on the London Eye. Oh...but what a view. There is a pleasant complimentary tea service in the room...which is nice to have after a day of museums or theater. My husband was impressed with the health club.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room away from the london eye.

My brother and I traveled to London for the Easter holiday and this was the only Marriott hotel available to use my points. The room was fine, the new restaurant Gillrays was good but if we had not received the 50% off our bill since it was still a soft opening we probably would not have eaten there. The breakfast from roomservice was phenominal. The first day we each ordered breakfast but we only ordered one on day two because it was so much food! And it was delicious (except the hot chocolate - kind of lame). The location is good for Parliment, Big Ben, the Eye and river boat tours. It's close to two tube stations but I suggest not using the westminster tube due to the constant congestion on the bridge from the tourists trying to get pictures. Try waterloo instead. The staff was amazingly helpful. There was a fire alarm at 12:30 am that was set off by one of the guests so can't be mad at them for that. We did get an apology letter that morning explaining what happened. Overall a wonderful hotel and though I usually like to stay more in the thick of things this hotel was a nice change of pace.

Room Tip: If you can get a river view room it's worth the view - ask for an upgrade when you check in.

Booked this hotel for a few days inbetween house moves.
Booked the most basic room as it was location for me and somewhere comfortable to sleep.
Upgraded at checking to river view executive room - lovely gesture and much appreciated.
Paid by debit card so had to pay for room in advance and "amount" for chargeables - not issue with this at the time but later proved to be a pain when I continually (3 times) got notes from reception that I HAD to go to see them ASAP to pay for chargeable rather than when I check out - had I known that is was the case when using a Debit card I would have used my Amex as it really did irritate me (althought the recpetion staff did their very best to try and explain this odd arrangangement it never did make sense (and it the first and only time this has happened).
Had pre-supper drinks in the bar and supper 3 nights. One of the bars was closed for re-furb but the one open was friendly and effienct and mixed a good martini. Supper was good although the menu very limited.
Spa booked for one day but it was around the time of the fire alaram test - wow did this take for ever, was deafening and extremely annoying as the lifts were not in action for over 15 mins (just to test a bell !?)
Spa treaments (facial and nails) excellent and I will return for those (as well as trying out the new bar and steak house)
Checkout painless.
Got a call that evening to say I had "left something at the hotel" - had no idea what it could be so toddled up there next day to find reception staff recognised me (lovely touch) and indeed I had left all my personal stuff in the room safe so it had been secured: really appreciated their efforts in getting right in touch with me and the efficiency of the front of house staff.
Would have NO hesitation in recommending this hotel as both a place to stay for business, leisure, dine or enjoy a cocktail and also a fabulous spa (But take a credit and NOT debit card)

Room Tip: dont ask for a free upgrade as you may receive one for just smiling and being pleasant

Beautiful hotel, UNREAL location, very helpful staff.
Quite expensive to eat there so if you are an executive member, take full advantage of the GREAT executive lounge!
This place is really a great place to stay. Very luxurious.

Room Tip: ANY room is great
