This hotel is great if your are looking from great rooms, great service and great location. Walking distance to Piccadilly Circus, Harrods, front of Hyde park you really can't ask for more. We had a very nice view to park room, quiet, and small details like a welcome cake (honeymoon).

Room Tip: Ambassador members, the upgrade really feels like one. Call before your arrival for a view park room...

Superb location overlooking Hyde Park and the Wellington memorial, walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Picadilly, Oxford Street and Knightsbridge. Flagship of the InterContinental group in London. Costly, as 5* hotels are in this great city, however, shop around as deals can be done. Good executive lounge, with great views if you qualify for access based on status and/or room type. Lobby area is sophisticated although not that large. Good, but again, expensive restuarant options. Rooms are average size, decor is nice and beds are extremely comfortable - insomniac friend said it was best nights sleep for many years!! Staff were extremely helpful as you would expect in a hotel of this standard.

Room Tip: Higher floors have best views, though rooms facing onto Park Lane can suffer from some traffic noise...

For a recent one night stay at the InterContinental I was lucky enough to get a marvellous room overlooking Wellington Arch and Hyde Park corner and had access to the Executive Lounge. The room was large and comfortable with plenty of space for all my luggage. I used the Executive Lounge a couple of times - once for breakfast and once for pre-theater drinks and both times I was thrilled with the view of London, right down to Battersea Power Station. It was also a good vantage point for watching the hundreds of planes on their descent to Heathrow airport. I could've stayed up there all day, if the lure of the shops hadn't pulled me out! Breakfast in the Executive Lounge was superb. Cold items, such as meats, cheese and cereals, were laid out buffet style and hot choices were cooked to order. I had the most delicious plate of eggs Benedict and my companion ordered kippers, which is a thing you don't see much of nowadays. What a treat.

The only complaint I had staying in this beautiful and historic hotel was the weather. It poured with rain almost the whole time I was there. Didn't stop me from shopping, though!

We had an excellent stay here with our daughter. The impression right from the beginning (starting with the doormen) was fantastic and as an Ambassador member, we received an upgrade and a lovely easter gift. The room was exceptionally well furnished, was clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. So much so that on my return home I decided that my own mattress must be very tired and have ordered a new bed!

Despite booking an executive room (and being upgraded to a suite) I was a little disappointed to find out that an executive room no longer gives you access to the executive lounge - I had to purchase access as an extra! the lounge does, however, give you great views and the breakfast, drinks and nibbles are served in an elegant manner.

I would definately recommend the hotel an am likely to stay again.

Room Tip: If you want access to the Executive lounge, don't book an "Executive room" - you need...

This was my second stay, and the hotel remains a stylish choice in a great part of town within easy walking distance to Picadilly, Mayfair, Buckingham Palace and Kensington. The rooms, whilst small, are well equipped with B&O tv, Bose sound systems and good showers.
