For a recent one night stay at the InterContinental I was lucky enough to get a marvellous room overlooking Wellington Arch and Hyde Park corner and had access to the Executive Lounge. The room was large and comfortable with plenty of space for all my luggage. I used the Executive Lounge a couple of times - once for breakfast and once for pre-theater drinks and both times I was thrilled with the view of London, right down to Battersea Power Station. It was also a good vantage point for watching the hundreds of planes on their descent to Heathrow airport. I could've stayed up there all day, if the lure of the shops hadn't pulled me out! Breakfast in the Executive Lounge was superb. Cold items, such as meats, cheese and cereals, were laid out buffet style and hot choices were cooked to order. I had the most delicious plate of eggs Benedict and my companion ordered kippers, which is a thing you don't see much of nowadays. What a treat.
The only complaint I had staying in this beautiful and historic hotel was the weather. It poured with rain almost the whole time I was there. Didn't stop me from shopping, though!
