is a little expensive, but luxurious. Staff outstanding. Beware of noisy rooms and they are not all the same. Outstanding location.

Formerly a Firmdale hotel, the property retains all the meticulously decorated rooms and public spaces. Very accommodating staff. Wonderfully located directly across from the S. Kensington tube station along with a bus stop in front of the hotel.

I had my 40th birthday party at the Pelham Hotel in January 2012. Bistro Fifteen was the perfect size for my 50+ guests and proved the most delightful setting for what was a very special evening. The hotel management had taken considerable time to dress the room for such an occasion and I was delighted with the result. My hotel room was very luxurious, exceeding my (already high) expectations for a five star hotel.

I was extremely impressed by the care and attention to detail taken by all members of staff at the Pelham, and particularly the front of house and bar staff. Many of my guests commented on the ‘above and beyond’ hospitality offered by the hotel, and I know that some of them are now planning a weekend break at the hotel so that they can sample that generosity once again!

I cannot recommend Bistro 15 and the Pelham highly enough.

Our room was spacious and beautifully designed. Cool and elegant with some modern touches in a classical setting, ENORMOUS bed, huge walk-in shower. Although only 50 metres from South Kensington tube all was tranquil inside. Downstairs lounges are gorgeous. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room service breakfast was fine, if not exceptional. Muesli was full of raisins and some rather nasty unidentifiable ground white bits. Smoked haddock was lovely, however, fruit was very good and coffee OK. Air conditioning was not very effective, however, and our room was stuffy even in early March, and the aerial connection for the television had been ripped out; reception, even when fixed was poor. To their credit, the staff offered us reasonable compensation without quibble.

Room Tip: Make sure to check the details of the room you are booking.

You know how travel sites always show great shots of hotels--and how disappointing it can be when the real thing doesn't pan out? Well, that's not the case here. Nothing you see online can hold a candle to the fabulous experience of staying at the Pelham. Not only is the place just as beautiful as it looks in pics, it's staffed with people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Plus, it's perfectly situated. Take the tube from Heathrow to the South Kensington station, and there you are, at the hotel, right in the middle of a vibrant, walkable neighborhood, just steps or a train from everything--pubs, shops, museums, theater, restaurants--LONDON, in all it's wonderful glory.

If you happen to be there on a Saturday morning, check out a real insider's treat: Her Majesty's Horse Guards, exercising the horses along the quiet streets, 7 am.

After years of staying in posh chains and disappointing boutiques, we finally found our home in London, thanks to a recommendation from a friend (thanks, Larry!). Check this out. You will NOT be disappointed.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different--this isn't a box hotel--so call to tell them what you might be look...
