“Great location, good service with minor flaws”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2012

Stayed in this hotel from 31 March to 3 April 2012.

This 4-star business hotel is conveniently located nearby (app. 3 minutes away) the Gloucester Road Underground Station, Tesco Express, Waitrose and lot of fast food restaurants.

During my visit, the service (check-in and check-out) was efficient, staff was friendly, breakfast and room amenities were pretty standard and i love the fact that they have bathtub. Everything seems to be perfect, the hotel even helped me to print out my board pass FOC. However, i do have two minor complaints:
i) I am a bit disappointed that a 4-star hotel like this offers internet access at an outrageous rate of £15 per day. I stayed in 6 hotels (half of these hotels are 4-star hotels) within 1 months period in Europe, none of the hotel charge customer for internet access except this. At last, i subscribed to daily internet access from my home country which charged 60% cheaper;
ii) The room looks a bit run down and my bathroom was without lock. Called once to highlight but no one turn-up hence i didn't bother to call again.

How to reach: I bought an Oyster Card and took the Piccadilly Line directly from airport to the hotel. I reached the hotel within 45 minutes. The only difficulty was to drag my heavy luggage up and down the staircase of the underground station.

Room Tip: Room with bathtub is much better than room with en-suite bath especially if your trip involves a lot...

I have stayed here many times and will come back. Good location, great staff, the rooms are fine and the business lounge is excellent. There is a pub on the ground floor which is always buzzing

Room Tip: A high floor will give you a graet view

Good location. Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms very small but servicable.. The check out time on Sunday morning was midday, however the cleaner rang the door bell and woke us up at 9.30.

This is now becoming my favorite of london, good (big enough) equiped rooms ( HD TV,Minibar,international power outlets), central location with tube station 10 meters away, easy access by car/taxi from LHR as well, very nice facilities (restaurant, gym) and most important the most helpful staff i have encounter in an hotel.

I'm just back from a 7 night stay in this property.

Positives - excellent lobby for informal meetings. We also booked a meeting room which was excellent and very good value.

Rooms, everything you need but they are tiny. Bed is a usual HI bed, but my goodness, you could be on the toilet and having a shower at the same time. That's fine, in a budget hotel, but with a rack rate of £400 I wouldn't call this budget! There are far better hotels within a 2 mile radius, at better prices.

We ate in the restaurant one of the evenings. I had steak, ordered medium. What came was overcooked and had a huge amount of fat, so much so I was left feeling hungry after eating barely half of it. As the staff did not ask how the meal was, I didn't bother to complain. For the same price, walk ten minutes to PJs restaurant and get a top class piece of meat.

Check in was impersonal but efficient. Concierge wasn't great - I wanted to book a minicab to Heathrow and was told it was either a chauffeur service or a regular London cab, or I could do it myself.

In the rooms the walls are paper thin, so just try be lucky and not get put next to a snorer or a permiscuous couple!
