“Very good value”
Reviewed 24 April 2012

I have stayed at the Hilton London Olympia as a convenient hotel for trade shows at Earl's Court a number of times, as it is a quick 15 minute walk to the exhibition hall. For Hilton Honors members the hotel is accommodating (when it can be) for early arrivals from the US, and has recently opened an executive lounge for HH members which has wireless access and as well as breakfast, snacks, and drinks. The hotel has an excellent, extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Some of the rooms are a bit small, and when you need two beds, you actually have to separate a double bed, by pulling it apart into two single beds, a bit inconvenient, and it takes up more room. Location is a bit far from Central London attractions, but several busses stop directly in front of the hotel, and the High Street Kensington tube station is a 10 minute walk. All together, a very good, less expensive option than Central London properties.

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for taking the time to write your review of the Hilton London Olympia.
I was delighted to hear you enjoyed a comfortable stay, received your Hilton HHonors loyalty programme upgrade and enjoyed the breakfast buffet in our newly opened Executive Lounge (of which we are very proud of).
You are correct in that our location is West London and not central where many of the tourist attractions can be found, and we do tend to be a hub for the exhibition market at Olympia and Earls Court Exhibition Centre as well as some great shopping at the close-by Westfield Shopping Centre. We always recommend that hotel guests research the location of their lodgings when booking all depending on why they are coming to London as it is a vast and exciting city. I am glad to hear that you found the public transport links good though from the hotel to the centre which many of our guests find convenient.
I hope that we may get the opportunity to be of service again on a future visit to West London.
Happy travelling! Richard, Director of Operations.

I stayed here with my family for 4 nights in early April. We did have to get two rooms because the rooms only have one bed. Our room was very quiet and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and updated. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We used the bus that came by the front of the hotel to take us to the High Street Kensington tube stop each day. We felt the hotel was a great value for the money and we could get to all tourist attactions in less than 30 minutes.

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for taking the time to post your review on tripadvisor.com following your visit this month to the Hilton London Olympia.
I was delighted to note that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel, and was able to visit London's tourist attractions.
For your information, it is common within Europe for hotel's to only have the one double bed rather than the two that you tend to find in the US, unless specifically specified by the hotel you are booking.
With thanks once again and I look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back.
Happy travelling! Richard, Director of Operations.

Two night weekend break at this Hilton was very enjoyable. Our room was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed eating breakfast in the restaurant and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Everyone had a smile for us.

Room: Our room was a twin. It was small by global standards, but quite acceptable by London standards. The bathroom was downright roomy. The hotel is fitted into an older building so the layout is kind of funky, but it was clean and functional.

Location: This is not exactly conveniently located if you're a tourist as it's a ways from the tourist spots, but you're right on the 9 and 10 bus lines which connect to Oxford and Picadilly (which opens the whole city). Also, Earl's Court and High St. Kensington tube stations are each about 15 minutes walk. That walk shouldn't scare you if the weather is nice and you aren't trekking in from Heathrow with tons of baggage, but if it's cold and you're loaded down it's a long 15 minutes. Once you're traveling light and getting comfortable with mass transit the location is perfectly acceptable.

Overall: I would stay here again if traveling under similar circumstances.

Room Tip: Probably not the hotel for you if you need a stunning view. You're a fair distance from central...

This hotel has improved over the past year, but still has a long way to go. The bathrooms are in poor repair. On my most recent visit the furnace basted extremely hot air directly at the bed and could not be turned off!!
The staff informed me they were aware of the problem in that wing, but there was nothing they could do about it. I got absolutely ZERO sleep during my stay and was worthless at work the next day! I seriously considered sleep in the bus shelter outside. I would have surely been more comfortable!
I am surprised Hilton allows it's banner to remain on this property.

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for your review and opinion of our hotel.
I categorically disagree with your comment as to whether the Hilton banner should be above the hotel door as everyday we deliver a great service and product to many guests who stay within our hotel of which we are very proud of, especially since to the refurbishment of our bedrooms and public areas which you kindly refer to.
The issue you highlighted with the heating in your room was unfortunately a failure in the chiller unit which caused one corridor of bedrooms to only experience heating. I am aware of when this happened and is something which occurred unexpectedly and could not be immediately rectified. This is something that could happen in any establishment when plant equipment occasionally can fail and not be immediately repaired or restarted without a 3rd party engineer visiting the property. Naturally, we moved any guest who requested a room move due to this issue, and had some guests who did not want to move. Unfortunately, I am unaware as to which you are due to the anonymous nature of this website. I can also guarantee you that you would not have been more comfortable on a bus shelter outside.
However, please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you during your stay with us. I thank you for sharing the way you perceive our hotel.
Happy travelling! Richard, Director of Operations.
