Right opposite the underground entrance and opposite a mall makes it very convenient. There are ample alternative eating places in the same block.
The hotel is classic London complete with a "real character ' in costume for a doorman.
There is no practical parking nearby. The lifts are good and the rooms air conditioned.
Thereafter the similarity with a modern hotel ceases. Road noise is significant during peak hours and into the late evening and early morning peak, bathroom is quite small, amenities are limited.
The dining room seems "challenged" for both language and process. Eg. We were asked 3 times for our room no before ordering a meal. The meals were served a good 5 mins apart, I watched one of our meals go past several times before they worked out which table it was for. Many of the poor staff struggled with English.
It is all about location. The hotel is very close to so many of the significant sites; once a foreigner, like me, works out the best way to get there by public transport.More
