Very nice people stuck in a bad situation - welcoming tired visitors to stay on their ancient lousy beds in a wonderful location in London. If they could purchase some new mattresses and put some fresh paint on the walls and fix other maintenance issues they would have a gem. We had to literally tape the curtains closed to block the morning light from waking us, and found the torn wall paper, worn paint and lousy beds hard to ignore. On the bright side breakfast at their sister hotel the Exhibitionist across the street was very nice. I'd look there for a room next time, as I was told they have better beds.

Room Tip: after being forced to stay in a terrible room the next day they moved us to a slightly better one.

A good hotel. Could have been a little bit cheaper.
Not good that you have to walk over the street to eat breakfast which was very very expensive and the service was not the best.
The best service at the hotel was from the great Receptionist Alessandra.
Stayed at the hotel just for a gig at the Royal Albert Hall on the 16th of May.

Booked for my husband + friend and paid in February. First thing hotel did was ask for payment (why no record?), secondly room not ready at 3.30 p.m., they had to wait until nearly 5! Very grumpy and rude receptionist. Bed had rip and curtains moth-eaten. Thank goodness receptionist this morning was complete opposite.

Stayed here for 3 nights while on a course. Location great in a nice area. Had a small double room in which you would have been hard pressed to fit 2 people. The decor is a bit worn around the edges and the water pressure on the shower was really, really low. Didn't have breakfast there, so can't comment on that.

We arrived at the Gainsborough yesterday which is a great location for all the museums and the Albert Hall. We had a triple room which was quite spacious and clean but a little dated decor. Overall happy considering the price however the beds were awful!!! Next day not your traditional English tasting breakfast but ok.
