“Not what we booked”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2012

We arrived at the hotel on the morning of April 17, 2012 after an overnight flight from the US. I had prepaid for our 5 night stay and reconfirmed our reservations. We arrived and were told our room was unavailable due to a "flood". The desk staff told us they had booked us into their "sister" hotel the Ashburn which wasn't far within walking distance. After my husband protested they called us a cab.which they did pay for. My husband was not pleased and wanted a fuller explanation and some compensation as the Ashburn is a less expensive hotel. We were told the manager, Mr. Fadi Abutair, would contact us. Five days later no word from Mr. Abutair. On checking out of the Ashburn we again voiced our displaeasure and were told that Mr. Abutair would email us. Back a week still no word from Mr. Abutair. While staying at the Asburn we overheard the fact that they were renovating rooms at the Parkcity which left us with the impression that our room wasn't "flooded" just wasn't avaiable to begin with. I cannot recomend this hotel.

Good Hotel. Nice and quite road. Good Breakfast. Only con's is when it is raining to take a bus or go to Earls court station takes a bit. Dispite that we could be back.

Room Tip: 4th floor - front room.

It's so disappointing, because this hotel is in a nice area, good location and the rooms are nice as well. But the staff let this hotel down immensely. They are unprofessional, rude, and not good at their jobs.

We were enjoying our stay and everything was fine. But the baths/shower are a death trap!!! After we experienced an accident because of this they became defensive and rude and not at all helpful or nice to deal with.

On checking out as well, someone else had accidently signed my room on their breakfast bill, which was obvious as it was a completely different name and signature, but the hotel tried to convince me that it was my mistake and did I have someone else staying with me in the hotel that I didnt disclose. This is the height of rudeness and instead of trying to resolve the matter they insisted on blaming their guests.

Would never ever return to this hotel, everything looks fine, but because of the service and staff I would suggest anyone and everyone to avoid at all costs, book somewhere else. It's not worth the hassle you will go through!

This could be a very charming hotel, the location is excellent specially if you are coming for a fair at the Exhibition Hall which is walking distance from the hotel. But unfortunately there are certain details that spoil the good image. The most important one is not having wi fi in the rooms, only in the lobby. And the second is that the lobby is right in front of the entrance with a glass door that most comers leave open. The weather was cold and rainy, I had to use this space to read and answer my mails and I would be freezing after some minutes. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful but some of the breakfast staff were not very efficient. One day I arrived at the restaurant and all the free tables were still covered with leftovers from the first round of breakfasts and there were no servants in the room. It took a long time for 2 of them to clean the tables and arrange them for the next round. This said the continental breakfast was good. The room we stayed was very charming with a bow window facing the street that is quiet. The black out curtains were very good and the only problem for light sleepers is that you feel the drumming of the underground beneath the floor. Another detail missing were complimentary biscuits near the tea and coffee machine. All the other hotels I stayed in London had this and I missed it. Just small details but devil is in the details.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor not to feel the trains underground

This was the second time we had stayed at The Parkcity in three years. The room was very comfortable, clean, and well-sized for a reasonable price. Check-in was effortless. The location is great, with a ten minute walk to Gloucester Road or Earl's Court tubes. Sainsbury's (supermarket) is just around the corner. We will continue to come back here to stay on future trips.
