From the moment you enter this hotel you are enveloped in the charm of days gone by. The staff are delightful, the furnishings gorgeous and breakfast superb.
There is a lovely bar area which is lovely for pre dinner drinks...great bar snacks come complimentary with your drinks. The room was nicely furnished, the bed oh so comfy, nice view over the gardens but it was incredibly small. Not a big issue, but I did have to stack suitcases in the cupboard to make room to walk around the bed. A friend we were travelling with had a single room which was smaller still, and only had a single bed. He is a tall man and in retrospect we should have ordered a double for him when booking, the price was not much different.
The hotel is a short walk from Russell St Station which makes it easy to get around and a direct train ride to Heathrow.

Room Tip: Book the best room you can afford, we booked a superior double and it was tiny.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your lovely feedback on your recent stay at the Montague.

I am pleased to read that you had a memorable stay with us and that you enjoyed the service, the ambiance and the facilities that we have on offer.

Thank you for your comments regarding the size of your room. The Montague is a listed building made up of nine individual Georgian townhouses with a wide array of differently shaped and sized rooms. May I suggest that you request a room with additional space when next making a booking. I do hope that this did not detract too much of your stay with us.

I hope that we have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the Montague soon.

Yours sincerely,

Dirk Crokaert
General Manager

We stayed at this hotel for the Jubilee weekend and found it even more welcoming than our first visit about four years ago. The level of service was excellent and the staff were superb with their helpfulness and courtesy. Our bedroom was very pleasant and comfortable and we would throroughly recommend this hotel, both for its sevice and location. We certainly hope to stay there again in the not too distant future.

Did not stay at the Hotel but visited for Afternoon Tea. We made a late afternoon reservation and was seated in a small but bright room near the entrance. It was pretty quiet with only two other couples. Service was top notch – warm and welcoming staff, excellent information of their teas offered, multiple refills of hot water, and fresh scones with clotted cream (my fav!). They also did not hesitate to bring out extras of all the items we enjoyed. We left very happy and with extremely full tummies. We will definitely return on our next trip!

This is one of the best hotels I have ever been to in London and that included staying at The Ritz, The Connaught, Langham and the Dorchester.
The staff outnumber the guests 2 to 1 I would estimate, and really want you to have a good time during your stay. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are small but well furnished, the breakfast is superb and the whole place is just so relaxing. We will now never use any other hotel when going upto London and wanting to stay around Bloomsbury/Covent Garden.
My girlfriend has been here before and she can vouch for their hospitality, do yourself a favour and book in here, you will not regret it.

This was our 3 stay at the Montague, and as always we had a wonderfull stay. The rooms are very smal but we knew that:) And I wish that we could have our breakfast outside on the terasse because the sun was out and the dinning room very very busy. The only room avalibly for us in the evening was the bar and we would like to enjoy more of the wonderfull places at the hotel... BUT the staff and the charm of the Hotel is fantastic! Very helpfull and very british. So there is no other place to stay for me and my sister in London. So many thanks to all of the staf. Best regards from Marianne Norway.

Room Tip: Take the Superior double room:)

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your lovely feedback about your recent stay at the Hotel.

Firstly I would like to apologise if you were not able to use all the facilities in the hotel during your stay. On occasion we do host private functions that will take up some of our public areas, however we always ensure that some areas are available to our inhouse guests.

I was sorry to hear that you did not manage to have breakfast on our Terrace. During the summer we do serve breakfast daily in this area, please accept my apologies if this was not the case or if this was not explained to you.

I was pleased to hear that you find the hotel and the staff fantastic and that the Montague is your preferred choice in London.

We look forward to your next visit to the Hotel.
