The room was clean and nice,
But there is not a hall, neither a restaurant, nor a breakfast room.
It is not a Hotel and it is not worth the price you pay.

Dear luigi l,

Thank you for your review. We hope our website makes clear that our concept edits those frequently under-used extras and takes the best from boutique and budget hotels as well as serviced apartments.

We offer alternatives to the usual hotel bar or restaurant by encouraging our guests to order room service or breakfast, which is delivered by our local partner cafe Pascucci, or to ‘Eat and Shop Local’ and to take advantage of all the great special offers and discounts that we have arranged for you, so our great value isn’t just in the room rate.

We also provide free Wi-Fi, 24-hour Reception & Concierge service, air-conditioning and a mini-kitchen in every room which are suitable for simple light bites. With contemporary interior-design, high quality IT including HDTVs with free internet access, music and games, ample power points (with European 220v), convenient workspace, great bathrooms, daily maid service, and competitive prices where the price you pay at check-out is what you thought you'd pay at check-in, base2stay Kensington is an ideal choice for business and leisure guests looking for a London hotel offering convenience, flexibility and affordable luxury.

Kind regards,

Sandra Anido
General Manager

Spent bank hols weekend in London - me, wife, son 4 and daughter 1 - did the museums, Kensington Gardens and caught up with friends based west so the location just 5 mins walk from Earls Court in a smart area was perfect. Around the tube station there is a Co-Op local plus some nice cafe's for breakfast (Balans recommended) and safe chain restaurants like Wagamamas, Gourmet Burget Kitchen, Nandos, Zizzi, etc.
Checked in to room 101 (slightly nervous based on that number!) but found it to be a fantastic room. Mini-kitchen was disguised inside a cupboard, good storage space for clothes, loads of room for double bed, single bed & cot and decent bathroom with decent shower. Room was spotless and quiet at night. Staff friendly, helpful and don't forget to use the money off vouchers for local restaurants.
We were unsure whether to give it a 4 or 5 star rating but solely based on the fact that the hotel met our expectations and then bettered it (location, cleanliness, comfort, space) we chose 5 star and we would recommend to other families.

My wife and I were a bit cautious when we reserved a Bijou double room, which is referred as 1-2 person room, for the two of us. Indeed the room was quite small, but on the contrary the bathroom was larger than expected. Despite the room size, everything in the room was perfectly in place: a kitchen closet, a safe, free WLAN and a TV connected to the internet. Instant coffee and tea bags were restocked daily and there was a fridge for storing our own breakfast supplies, so that there was no rush getting out for breakfast in the mornings. The bed was big enough for two and the pillows were very good.

The location is just perfect for a hotel. It is just a block away from Earl's Court station, which has excellent connections to both Heathrow (direct link with Piccadilly Line) and Gatwick (via Victoria) and you can find good grocery stores, restaurants and pubs around the station. Earl's Court is very busy, but the street by the hotel is very quiet, which is rather suprising since it is only a block away.

The front desk was always polite and friendly.

Even though our room wasn't overly large, after flying for 25 hours to get to London, I was thrilled to be able to go right into our room at 11AM. Our room was clean and comfortable, close to Earl's Court, with great pubs and good restaurants nearby. The heated towel rail kept everything cosy and dried out clothing that was caught out in the rain. Small kitchenette meant we could have a few snacks on hand, Sainsbury's is nearby. Kensington High Street markets were one train station away.
