“Great room & location, dreadful room service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2012

The room at this hotel was great - very contemporary, 4 poster bed, plush decor and good bathroom with particularly good shower. The location is also great too, on the edge of the city, so well located for business travellers and tourists. The staff were friendly and welcoming, unlike manay city hotels. The only downside was the quality of the room service - really, really bad, so avoid. It's my own fault - with so many good restaurants on the doorstep there's no excuse for not going out! I will definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your candid comments. While we are so pleased that overall you have enjoyed your stay with us, I am really sorry we failed to meet your expectations when it came to our Room Service. I would be very interested to hear directly more about this incident so we can ensure we provide you with the service you deserve next time you stay with us. Please contact me by email: alex.apostolakos@hitowerhill.com; I will be very grateful.
So until we speak again...

Pros: We loved the location of this hotel near Tower Hill. We were able to easily walk to many attractions, and the Underground and a bus stop were very close by. The area is very quiet on the weekends which was fine for us. Our room was very comfortable, the bathroom was large and nice, and the hotel was able to accomdate a travel cot for our small child (we had a handicap room).

Cons: I need to agree with a previous reviewer that the breakfasts were overpriced (although we did enjoy the food). Also, If you want to be near action, the hotel is not within easy walking distance of the more lively areas... but I must emphasize that the Underground is very easy to use and close by.

We spent Easter in London and chose the Hotel Indigo London Tower Hill due to all the positive comments we had read about the hotel. Thus our expectations were high, we were not disappointed. The staff were service minded and positive and the rooms were really nice (just as shown on the hotel's own pictures). Both Aldgate and Tower Hill stations are only a few minutes walk away so we had easy access to both shopping and all major attractions. Furthermore, both Borough Market and Brick Lane are in walking distance from the hotel. These areas were definitely worth a visit.

Stayed here with my 14 year old son for 4 nights. As other reviewers stated, we were greeted with a friendly smile and efficient, early check in. Our room was a very nice size, especially for London. Agree with the reviewer who wished for more space for toliletries in the bathroom. Unfortunately they sacrificed function for style in that department, but I managed to make due. Loved the location and we used both Adgate and Tower Hill tubes. Also walked one night from the Bank St. tube station (more convenient for north line( and felt perfectly safe. Loved proximity to Tower Bridge (most beautiful of all of them). There are several eating spots, both outdoors and in, with views of the bridge. Used the tour buses and boats to get around, which again can be gotten at or near the bridge. Staff was super helpful getting us a car the morning we left (reasonable price) and giving directions and advice during our stay. Next door to hotel is a "convenience store" which also serves full, hot English breakfast. I went down there every morning for coffee, croissants, yogurt, bananas, etc. Saved a lot of money that way. Opens at 630am, but only on weekdays. On weekends there is a Pret a Manger one block toward the tower that was open for purchases, and a Starbucks, but that was it. Weekdays far more lively. Only noise problem was one weekend night when pub goers were heading home a bit noisily, and one night I heard a garbage or recycling dumpster being picked up by a truck. Otherwise it was quiet and there was no noise between rooms at all. The restaurant is sadly not very busy; kind of desolate with a very limited menu, as one reviewer stated. But there are pubs and restauarants right arond there for when you don't want to venture too far.

I would stay here again. It's a lovely hotel in a great, safe location with wonderful staff.

Stayed for a long weekend from 22 March. Room was small but well designed and fresh.
Had only one lunch and one brakfast but both were very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially to my wife who had a sore throat, thanks again.
The hotel was in a good location for both tube and buses, but the area was very quiet over the weekend when all the City workers had left.
