Had a night's stay in the club, and was very impressed.
The location was excellent, right on the doorstep for all the main attractions.
The rooms were very comfortable, had a great nights sleep, air conditioned, clean, plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits etc, i couldn't fault it at all.
The evening meal was nice, and value for money. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice and freshly prepared full English.
Excellent choice of real ales at the bar, very reasonably priced, more like what i pay in the North for a pint.
I can certainly recommend this club as a place to stay, you won't be disappointed.

We stayed here for six nights recently. Location is a few minutes from Trafalgar Square -close to everything - couldn't ask for a better location. Meals (including breakfast) are plentiful, varied and high quality. Staff are pleasant and efficient. Unfortunately during our stay the lift was out-of-order so we had to trudge up and down to the third floor - but it was good exercise, especially after the huge servings.

The rooms are old and dated, but COMFORTABLE and VERY CLEAN. Our room had a small bathroom but everything was clean and we got fresh supplies and towels daily. For the excellent price we paid for staying in central Londobn (close to Embankment and Charing Cross stations), would highly recommend as well as stay again if we were visiting London. Beds comfortable and quiet. Meal prices EXCELLENT too.

Room Tip: Make sure lift is working when booking!

We have been members of the CSC for ten years now and have seen it improve and modernise over this time. The location is prime, being near to the Embankement, theatres and Covent Garden. It is realistically priced and the breakfast is one to be enjoyed! Rooms are clean and comfortable with hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities provided. They are also air conditioned. The bar is welcoming and has booths that are cosy. Food in the bar is basic but reasonably priced. The lift is temperamental but is being upgraded next month.

Room Tip: Room 405 is the best room for size and it is also the quietest room as night buses can be heard in the rooms at the front of the building.

I stayed at the Civil Service Club on Wednesday 8 October as I had a meeting in London. The Club is excellently located next to Trafalgar Square and the price was fantasitic for this location. The room was nice and confortable with a flat screen tv and tea and coffee facilities and alos has an outside courtyard with a large number of picnic tables, something that must be a rarity in central London.

The big bonus for me was that on the night there was a Comedy Club being held there with five excellent comedians and for the price of my ticket (£6) I also got buffet, whata bargain! On my table was a flyer about Xmas Comedy nights with a 3 course meal Xmas meal followed by comedy. I quickly phoned the holder of the purse and I'll be staying here again, this time with my wife, in December.

There was an excellent selection of beers in the bar and I tried one that I have never seen before called Bonkers Conkers.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the Club.

Having been a frequent stayer at the club it is great to see it being upgraded. Now the rooms have modern televisions with freeview and free wifi. The Club is fantastic value at £85 including breakfast. My stay enlivened by being able to go to the monthly comedy night in the dining room not something you would get in a normal hotel !!!
