What a lovely place to enjoy a fantastic choice of food ,accompanied by a great music and a friendly staff with an ever present smile on their faces (a lady with a blue hair passes it on to you,even against the crap,British☔️weather 😊👍).
I have never seen this place empty ,people come here all day long ,and like myself ,making sure they take their time to make the most out of it ...Wanstead High Street has definitely gained such a different from other local cafes s p i r i t ...I have finally found after 12 years of residing here the place to be ~although slightly expensive ,however ,worth every penny spent 🤑(their loyalty card also includes a great choice of the bread ,as well as the ☕️😱😁)👌Kids,families,pets and others friendly -yet,very private upstairs ~ perfect 👏

I went to Gail's for the first time and cannot express enough how impressed I am with the staff. Amazingly friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. This is how customer service should be and often isn't in London- I should of course add that the food was pretty amazing as well. Incredible quality. Would recommend Gail's to anyone visiting East London.

Was I. Wanstead with my twin babies and daughter in law we was drawn in by the beautiful display of cakes and food and the whole decor and ambiance it is fab , we ordered and 10 minutes later with 2 babies getting restless , no coffee had arrived no nothing so my daughter in law went and explained not a sorry just a vacant look we waited mother 5 mins I was getting wound up I went to the counter and explained to another lady who seem to be in charge and said we would just like our money back please she went to get the manager , the food came out and the lady said you can have the food and we will give your money back as well , I said you can’t be farmer than that , so I sat back down the owner then came out and acknowledged the problem and gave us bread and a cake on the house to takeaway which was very nice of her . They was very apologetic.

Ridiculously over-priced average food. Scrambled eggs on toast were cold, overcooked and one portion had a nice piece of shell in it. Coffee was lukewarm. Precious kids being "expressive" (= loud and badly behaved) whilst parents poured over Facebook. Bought a cheese scone (superb) and a standard sourdough loaf to take away, which was completely over-baked and dry/stale the next day. The new Wansteadites love it of course, but they have more money than taste. My first and last visit.

Chicken burger was amazing! ❤️ would totally recommend for everyone to go there for breakfast and just take away your bread. Awesome!
