This restaurant has a wonderful and unique setting and ambiance. The food and wine were top class along with the service. We were both very impressed and can't wait to return!

My wife and I spent a couple of hours at congusto as a date night following our recent marriage....
We wanted to give it a try for sometime but were waiting for a special occasion.... because it's that sort of place isn't it?

After all there is a £20 security deposit expected before you can reserve a table.. so it must be something special...

Firstly you need to be extremely slim in the bottom. department to fit in the tub chair at the tables...my wife who is slim.. btw.was very uncomfortable and felt very hemmed in... before some one comes back with a comment that the restaurant itself is small therefore that justifies the tiny chairs.... tiny dosnt have to mean uncomfortable...

The menu itself came with a Today set menu option ... which was £25 and was worth a consideration... however she is a Pescatarian and the set menu had only A single option for each course... naturally we asked the waitress if there was a veggie/ fish option...to which she checked with the management...no sorry was the response...no explanation or attempt was made to satisfy the customer....
Fine... disappointed but we both selected from the menu...a seafood risotto and a cod dish.....

What can I say....the risotto was..plonked an a large flat plate...it was over salted and overcooked and claggy...my cod though fresh had no crispy skin and was pretty average...

Salted caramel ice cream was crystallyzed and grainy ....

The extra parmesan charge. Btw ...we picked up on immediately and as in a previous review was appalling ...im Italian and tonight felt ashamed....

Costs / pricing or not I've never seen that ever ...and I never expect to again....i have eaten all over the world . and in many 5*establishments.. this is barely a 2*

I would have rated it a 1* also but for the waiting staff....and the clean toilet...

My advice is ...if you want good food.. served with love .. with respect for the customer.... don't go to congusto... and when though we mentioned on booking that we were celebrating our special occasion ...it was completely bypassed and ignored...

Customer service is poor and not for the customer....for a hospitality business congusto failed on every level....

If you want good.. hearty.. food.. served with expertise..immacculate customer service...old school .... quality if recommend..Da Peppino ..im. welling high street...every time..

We've wanted to try this restaurant since it opened 7 months ago. However, with 18 covers at table and maybe 6 at the bar, even with three sittings a night, it gets booked up quickly. Not surprising! Owned by two Italian brothers, the cuisine is Italian with an interesting twist. We had a delicious prawn with aioli starter then tagliatelle con ragu for one and a very light pork belly set off well with roasted pickled onions and a sweet potato coulis for me. We finished with salted caramel ice cream. The menu is short and interesting and the wine list also attractively Italian. Although small, situated in a former guard room, the restaurant is not noisy and pleasingly circular. The staff are very welcoming and pleasant. We'll be back to enjoy more of this gem in the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich. The approach is interesting through sculptures by Anthony Gormley.

Went for dinner for the first time at this little local gem last night. The food was absolutely delicious, service wonderful and venue itself has lovely ambience.

We started with the grilled tomino cheese and ham salad with home made foccacia. It was perfectly cooked and oozing melted cheese with the peppery rocket salad. We then had the beef rage tagliatelle and slow cooked pork belly, both of which were richly flavoured and beautifully presented.

We'll definitely be going back and taking friends and family with us. Suggest booking a table as this place is tiny and is going to become a hot ticket.

This restaurant is tiny, and that is a big part of its charm and why you would have to book... but it is really worth it. The food was delicious, well presented, and served promptly. The house wine very palatable too, which is always a good sign!
