First of all, I rated this 3, because 4 is 'very' good. I think the true review would be 3.5, as its better than just 'average'.
Now, first impressions. Very clean and tidy, from the reception right up to the rooms. No problems there. Beds very comfy, and shower superb. Staff VERY friendly and helpful. The things that knock this back to 'good' (3.5) are, the TV didn't work in my room or my colleagues. (This was digital changeover weekend, so it /may/ be that it wasn't the hotel's fault, although the symptoms were different in each room, so unlikely). The rooms we were in were a little compact, though quite nice, so this is probably more suited as a place to sleep, rather than an evening in! And one other point of note, my colleague was in a semi basement room, and was woken up by the kitchen extractors coming on stream at 530am.
Don't be too put off though, if all you need is a night's kip (as we did) this is a friendly and comfortable hotel, 2 minutes walk from Paddington Station. TOP TIP. Breakfast in the hotel (if not included in your package) is 12 quid. 20 yards from the rear of the hotel is a greasy spoon, great breakfast, including tea or coffee for 4.25!More
