Our Stay In London

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Jul 2015
Our son and us stayed at Amber Residence Hotel, 42-44 Gloucester Place, London W1U 8HF, England from 27th May till 3rd June, 2015. We stayed in the Luxury Apartment. As a service Apartment we found it very comfortable with all the services provided promptly, with a smile and most efficiently. A very centrally located Hotel, very well connected with the London Tube, the Bus, restaurants and groceries are next door and of course you are only a 5 min walk from Oxford Street. We enjoyed our stay and thanks to Gabby and his colleague Yanush who made our stay memorable. Well done

I've just returned from a very enjoyable family holiday in London were we stayed at the Amber Residence. I have to say that I was quite happy with our choice of accommodation. Even though we were a party of four (2 adults & 2 children) the room we had was more than satisfactory. The rooms were spotlessly clean, beds comfortable, staff friendly and the location is in close walking distance to Oxford Street for shopping and Baker Street Tube station. I look forward to returning.

Stayed here and during our stay my partner was taken Ill and they had to check us out of our room, in the process our very expensive camera was stolen even tho we had evidence on our laptop proving the downloading of the photos and the make and model of camera they deny it was in the room , poor standard room as well, I can't believe any hotel would treat its guests in this way .

Upon arriving at our room the key broke off in the lock. The caretaker could not guarantee when or if it could be fixed. We had to keep checking back in. The caretaker was apathetic, unprofessional and unreliable. The management was unresponsive.

We were in London 3 days in September 2013. We enjoyed our stay in this residence.
The location is great. A few steps from the metro and shopping streets. A few meters from the bus stop Easybus to Stansted Airport.
Furnishings are modest but very clean.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
We will return in the spring.

Although Amber is not a hotel as such you feel more comfortable and have more amenities at your fingertips than a hotel. All rooms come with a kitchenette and separate bathroom, carpeted floors, tv, and of course a comfortable bed, small table and chairs and large closet.
The location is absolutely central London - few minutes walk to the famous Oxford Street including Selfridges and Marks and Spencer, few minutes walk in another direction to Baker St. station where is can catch the underground going in several different directions. Hyde Park is around the corner. Buses almost at the door step whether you want the West End for the theatres, or trips to the outer suburbs around London.
I just spent 5 days there at the beginning of December, and have booked for 8 days for myself and some family members for July 2014 - we feel we can't do better than Amber in London!
