Problem at reception booking in, during which the receptionist answered a phone call and proceeded to give someone long and involved directions to the hotel then had a quick chat with one of her pals while we stood waiting - not really appreciated after a five hour drive. Asked for a taxi for 5 when going out for the evening and got two cabs from a firm which must have a contract with the hotel ,[direct dial phone in reception] Although our trip was totally unconnected to football the restaurant we were meeting freinds at that evening was at Liverpool FC, when I gave the taxi driver our destination he made a number of offensive remarks, especially considering there were children in the car. Possibly the hotel need to review their taxi policy.Again as one other reviewer said breakfast was a let down with no bacon avalable.Bit dissappointed with the whole experience really.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Sefton Park Hotel is a beautifully restored Victorian Villa overlooking the Boating Lake in Sefton Park, the largest park in Liverpool. It is one of the original detached houses on the perimeter of the park where rich merchants and shipping magnates once lived in style. Today it offers a warm friendly welcome, comfortable accommodation and quality food and drink which is served in Astrid's Bar and Michelngelo's Italian Restaurant. More modern history confirms that 'The Blenheim' was, infact, the family home of the fifth Beatle, Stuart Sutcliffe in the 1960s. Stuart's family continued to live here until 1970. ... more less
