My title says it all. ALL the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely. It was a good size with a good sized well equipped ensuite. The whole place was very clean. The food was lovely and well presented. The breakfasts were substantial with a good choice of hot dishes. We had an evening meal which was tasty and again there was a good choice of dishes. I would highly recommend this wonderful pub

Lovely place, delicious food and awesome staff! We were able to book a table the same day for a Sunday roast, and the experience could not have been any better.

The Sunday roast options were very inclusive, and the remaining items on the menu we tried were equally great. I even ordered dessert after the roast, no matter how stuffed I felt already (piece of advice, try the three chocolate brownie, you will not be disappointed!).

Staff was friendly, attentive and did not rush us at all, even though us Spaniards are known for making reeeeally long after lunch chats over coffee at the table.

We will definitely go back if we visit Lincoln in the future, because this place is absolutely worth going up the hill! :)

We were welcomed to our booked table straight away.
We all ordered curried parsnip soup which was very nice apart from wedges of butter placed on the serving plates next to hot bowls so it melted - my friends didn’t realise they had butter for their bread so it left swimming pools of fat on the plate at the end of the first course.
Ordered lamb roast (£16.95) and was warned that it was medium rare - it certainly was and delicious. Friends had pork roast (£13.95) which was also very tasty and filling.
Very good, large Sunday lunch but pricy. Free chilled water already on the table which was a bonus.
Not too busy fir Easter Sunday but there were a couple of families with crying babies.
Very good prompt, cheerful service from all staff but they just need to stop saying, “No problem. Not a problem. No worries. Guys!!” as it is not respectful to older customers.
Will return for s special occasions as if us expensive.

We both had a roast dinner (beef and lamb). The dinners came quickly despite it being pretty busy and the food was gorgeous. The meat was cooked to perfection; very tender and melted in the mouth.
Everything on the plate was delicious and neither of us could fault it at all. Presentation of the food was also very good and portion size was spot on. They are worth every penny.
We both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was absolutely gorgeous too.
The staff were polite and well mannered. The place has a really nice relaxing atmosphere and we will definitely be visiting again.
The only reason why I haven’t given a five star is because we had to wait a long time for our drinks to be bought to our table and we had to ask three times for them. We did get them eventually but it was whilst we were halfway through our meal.

Popped in and they kindly gave us a table between reservations. It appears to be a popular place with the locals and we could see why. The service was friendly from the first hello. Our meals were generous and delicious.
