We had a short break in Lincoln and stayed at the newly refurbished Castle Hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. We had a problem with our heating and the manager was very quick to change us to a different room. She also checked in on us when we were having a drink to make sure all was well. The restaurant is really outstanding. The breakfast that is included is better then most breakfasts that are included in the price of the room and I would say better then some you pay for! The breakfast hits the same high standards that you get if you have dinner in the restaurant. The location is great. The cathedral is a short walk. You are right in the heart of the old city.

just back from the castle hotel,we can only heap praise on this hotel from the welcome, the service, fabulous rooms with lovely comfy beds and bathroom.okay it was quite expensive, but we believe you only get what you pay for and this hotel was fab,as for the food yummy mouth watering,i had a stilton mousse with a drizzle of lovely sauce etc,and have never tasted any starter as nice,as for the red eye steak, this was the best i've ever had.do you want me to carry on??? all i can say is spoil your wife or girlfriend or for whatever reason and book this hotel.if i ever read a bad report on the castle hotel i wont believe it,a big thank you to both owners and all your staff, keep the good work up.brian and vanda, hyde cheshire.

Room Tip: try the steak and a stilton mousse starter if you like that sort of food.

We had the pleasure of staying for two nights in the Franklin Room which is one of The Castle Hotel's traditional rooms. The room was very well appointed with the added benefit of fine views to three aspects overlooking the Cathedral, Castle and the Water Tower.
On arrival we were made welcome by Hannah, the hotel manager, for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Our dining experience in the Reform Restaurant was an absolute delight. There was an imaginative menu which offered food to suit all tastes. Everything was beautifully cooked and well presented by friendly staff.
We would have no hesitation in returning to The Castle Hotel and recommend it without reservation.

Room Tip: If your budget allows it's worth paying extra for a Traditional Room. In this category we found the Franklin Room to be exceptional.

The staff and service here are first-rate - helpful and attentive but not overly so. The room was not particularly good value - although well finished, extremely comfortable and up to date it lacked a wow factor and was too hot even with the radiator off. The restaurant was a brilliant surprise and deserves five stars. We'd seen it had won an award last year so were expecting it to be good, but not this good. The menu was short - always a positive sign - and the combinations of flavours showed flair and were very well matched.

We stayed at the castle hotel in the coach house apartment for a wedding this week end and it was so lovely. The double bedded apartment had every facility and was beautifully appointed. We also had our own private parking space which was wonderful as we could just park up and walk to the wedding which was held in different venues in the historical part of Lincoln. From the window on one side we looked out over the castle and on the other side the absolutely awesome medieval cathedral which dominates the area. At night it is flood lit and it is spectacular! We ate breakfast at the hotel which was lovely, on the second morning we both had Eggs Benedict with a duck egg and it was lovely. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone and I would return there at any and every opportunity. Thank you castle for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: Every room is a good room.
