Recently spent 3 nights here in room 12 on first floor -this is large room with 2 armchairs in window overlooking promenade,great view.We know by now the high standards and cleanliness of the hotel ,and the friendliness off the staff ! Thanks Wayne , Philip and John . If you do need anything just ask , nothing is too much trouble .I wonder how they keep the white towels so fluffy and white , would have white towels at home if I could keep them like this . Also , I like the way the coat hanger hooks are not attached permanently to the rail-so much easier for access to clothes . We love the balcony on first floor, very close to room 12 , and had a couple of drinks there ,taking in a bit of sun .Will be back in October when we have managed to book the extra special room 10 -direct access to balcony . This room especially needs to be booked early . Ate in the Stonegrill restaurant each evening and had 3 great meals, and would recommend this experience. Looking forward to our return.Would not want to stay anywhere else in Blackpool .

Thank you for taking the time to make your lovely comments. The balcony patio is very popular with all our guests as is the restaurant.

We first stayed at the North Ocean late March 2015 and were so delighted with it we booked in again for earlier this month - and were pleased we did.
What you don't get is a spa...or a swimming pool...or a butler...or shoe cleaning.
However, what you do get is much more important:
A genuinely warm, friendly welcome from Wayne which is carried over into the service provided by all the locally trained staff;
A first class location on North Prom, with superb views and a gentle 20 minute stroll to North Pier;
An immaculately clean, well equipped room...even down to a large fan to help cater for the hot weather...yes really,,,in May...in Blackpool!;
An excellent, made to order breakfast;
Value for money, we paid £71 p n on b & b terms for a sea view room, which included a loyalty discount;
The Stonegrill restaurant, a tremendous facility for a hotel of this size, which seems to be attracting ever increasing custom from outside of the North Ocean itself - and which I have reviewed separately.
Well done again Wayne! Thank you for a great little holiday and Janet and I wish you well for the forthcoming season.

Room Tip: You're in Blackpool, make sure you book a sea view!!

We stayed in the amazing room 10 . It was beautiful and could not fault it . Checked in and had no problems parking car out the front . Checked in around 230 and was welcomed and shown to our room . Opened doors on to balcony . Could not have asked for anything better . We only wish we had booked for longer and tried the restaurant . So we are definitely going back for a few nights . Breakfast was lovely and really good quality . I cannot praise this hotel enough . We have told all our friends and family to try it . We walked down to the tower etc and it was few stops on the tram so location is perfect . Will definitely be returning . Thankyou for our wonderful stay and helping to make a memorable 50th birthday . Kim and Andy xxx

We are currently staying in the superb room 10. This is our second stay. Our first time was in room 11 in September, a small double room, really enjoyed then. So booked this stay. Room 10 has a gorgeous sea view. We have stayed in many hotels in Blackpool, like The Imperial and Hilton. The North Ocean is one of the best. In smaller hotels I think you get better service. We look forward to our stay in September. Thanks to Wayne and all the staff for a lovely stay.

Upon arrival we were welcomed very warmly by the staff; one staff member even carried my friends case upstairs for us.

The room was spacious and included all the essentials you would expect along with bottles of water which is unusual these days. We experienced no noise to our room on the two nights we were there. The staff were very nice and assisted us with anything we needed. The bathroom was adequate and very clean.

The restaurant within this hotel gets extremely busy as the food is excellent, "The Stonegrill" must get lots of bookings from all around the area so book your tables; we had to eat at 5pm which suited us, to be able to eat there on our first night. The steak was prepared on a hot stone to enable cooking each slice to perfection yourself and the meal remained hot throughout and the meal was big and lovely. The included breakfast was really, really good; continental and cooked breakfast options left us feeling full and ready for the day.

The only thing I could have wanted more was faster wifi; while free, it was fairly slow despite not being far from a router, so I ended up using my cellular data for faster browsing.

Overall though I'd recommend this hotel to anyone; the few little extras, great breakfast, combined with the lovely staff and nice room all came at a great value rate (£59/night) for a weekend in Blackpool.
